The Fairview Rose Quartz is a premium rosé made from the Mediterranean grape varieties Carignan, Grenache, and Cinsault. The Cinsault comes from approximately 30-year-old bush vines on the upper slopes of the Fairview estate, while the Grenache comes from an east-facing single vineyard on Paarl Mountain and the Carignan from the Klein-Amoskuil Farm near Malmesbury. The dry-farmed, organically grown Carignan thrives on schist soils and lends the cuvée body and elegance.

For Rose Quartz, small parcels are selected from the three vineyards, each of which also produces its own red wines. The blend of Mediterranean rosé grape varieties is designed to create a more complex and structured rosé style.

On the nose, Rose Quartz is delicate and multi-layered, with aromas of pomegranate and summer berries, complemented by a hint of apricot blossom and subtle yeast notes. On the palate, it is decidedly fresh and harmonious, with a dry, salty quality, layered summer fruit, and crisp acidity. A subtle hint of oak lends the wine additional depth and complexity.

This versatile rosé is ideal for long summer meals and pairs particularly well with fresh salmon sushi, Mediterranean salads, and cheese and tapas platters.

The Simonsig Pick of the Bunch Pinotage has a dark red color. The aromas of sweet red fruits and cherries are dominant and captivating from the start. The grand finale then features notes of blackcurrant and velvety, silky tannins.Frans Malan, the founder of Simonsig Estate, presented his estate's first red wine in 1970 with a Pinotage. It is deliberately not aged in wood in order to emphasize the fruitiness and bring out the raspberry notes. Our recommendation: Enjoy the wine four to eight years after the harvest.
