The vineyards on which the South African wine estate Constantia Uitsig now grows wine have been cultivated since the 16th century. Situated between Table Mountain (around 15 kilometers north of the winery) and False Bay (10 kilometers south), the microclimate is ideal for high-quality viticulture. The Constantia Uitsig Red is a wonderful example of this.

This South African red wine combines fruity and spicy notes in its impressive bouquet. Connoisseurs can expect the scent of plums and blackcurrants, which harmonize perfectly with notes of herbs, graphite and cigar box.

These notes also characterize the aromas on the palate. The dry red wine is also characterized by the skilfully integrated, ripe tannins, its great balance and freshness as well as the pleasant, long-lasting finish.

The Constantia Uitsig Red matured for 15 months in French oak barrels. For this red wine from South Africa, 60% new barrels were used. Enjoy this high-quality blend at a drinking temperature of 15 to 18 degrees. This "quintessential cool-climate red blend", as the winery puts it, is an ideal accompaniment to a high-quality steak.
