Casa Ermelinda Vinha da Fonte Touriga Nacional

Notes of dark plums, cherries and a sweetish spiciness (vanilla and gingerbread) characterize the bouquet of the Portuguese red wine Vinha da Fonte Touriga Nacional from the Casa Ermelinda Freitas winery. The pure Touriga Nacional, an indigenous red wine variety from Portugal, is matured in French and American oak, which gives it a stimulating complexity.

On the palate, the purple-red wine is dry and very concentrated, with a remarkable freshness. The Vinha da Fonte Touriga Nacional is also powerful and juicy, with soft, very well-integrated tannins.

The Casa Ermelinda Freitas winery has received hundreds of awards (!) for its work in recent decades, including "Best Producer Portugal" at the 2022 Summer Tasting of the Mundus Vini international wine competition. The winery, located around 60 kilometers east of Lisbon, is a master at bringing out the full potential of the terroir in the Península de Setúbal wine region.

Connoisseurs can look forward to creations such as the Vinha da Fonte Touriga Nacional, whose price-performance ratio is phenomenal. Enjoy this elegant red wine at a drinking temperature of 15 to 18 degrees. It is a very good accompaniment to a cheese platter with spicy varieties, ossobuco, the traditional stew of Italian cuisine, as well as classic beef rissoles.

Espiga Tinto VR
It is an ancient tradition in this region on Twelfth Night, to paint figures similar to those on the label, on the white walls of the local houses. In the long established vineyards, traditional vine varieties such as Castelao, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Syrah are grown in sunny slopes.Long maceration, traditional fermentation and aging in oak barriques are used in the production of this wine.

António Lopes Douro
This wine shows an intense, powerful and fruity bouquet. It is full-bodied and rich in fruit and tannins.Enjoy this Vinho Tinto with dark meat, grilled fish, hearty flummeries and spicy pizza. The Douro wine-growing region is the oldest protected region of origin in Portugal. The cultivation area was already precisely defined and designated in 1761. This bizarre landscape along the Douro River is characterized by steep slopes and terraces extending down to the river. The prevailing cultivation conditions here are extremely harsh, so that the vines grow only with difficulty on the slate and granite soils. In former times, port was almost the only thing produced here, but today, the Douro area ranks among Portugal’s top wine regions.

Duas Quintas Douro Clássico Tinto - Red
The Duas Quintas Douro Red has a bright, grenadine-red color with violet nuances.Ripe aromas of wild berries, blackberries, cherries, figs and cistus, with a floral note.Smooth and fresh on the palate, with the length and expressive flavors that are characteristic of an Alto Douro wine. The grapes are harvested by hand in 150 kg crates, pressed and destemmed and then fermented in steel vats at a temperature of no more than 25º. Bodegas Los Llanos Pata Negra Toro D.O.
