Santadi Rocca Rubia Riserva Carignano

The Santadi Rocca Rubia Riserva Carignano from the Sardinia region seduces the nose and palate with a variety of aromas.

Made from Carignano grapes, it is characterized by a deep ruby red. It is an excellent accompaniment to hearty dishes. The Santadi Rocca Rubia Riserva Carignano presents a variety of aromas on the nose. Fruity nuances of blackberry and blueberry meet tones of myrtle, leather, liquorice and a hint of vanilla and dark chocolate. Full-bodied and complex in taste with rum pot aromas and plenty of fruit sweetness, this red wine caresses the palate with a velvety softness. It has a long, lingering finish.

The Cantina di Santadi winery makes this red wine from the Carignano grape variety, one of the most important grape varieties in Sardinia. Here in the coastal region with its mid-mountain character, the vines find optimal conditions for maturing. Thanks to this traditional red wine grape, the wine shimmers a deep ruby red in the glass.

The intense and long-lasting aroma of Santadi Rocca Rubia Riserva Carignano comes into its own at a drinking temperature of 18 °C. This red wine is a good accompaniment to hearty meat dishes such as suckling pig or wild boar. This wine also harmonizes well with lamb gigot and roast veal. It also tastes wonderful with mature Sardinian sheep's cheese.

Production area: Selected vineyards of Neviera and Casa Rossa, located in San Marzano district. The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides.
