Wittmann Spätburgunder trocken

The Wittmann Spätburgunder impresses with its finesse, elegance and clear origin. The grapes come from the estate's own vineyards in Rheinhessen, which are cultivated biodynamically and carefully tended. A highly selective manual harvest, manual destemming and traditional mash fermentation with gentle punching down of the mash cake form the basis for this Pinot full of character.

The wine is matured in small French oak barrels, which gives the wine its harmonious structure and fine complexity.

In the glass, the Pinot Noir is a light ruby red. Aromas of red berries, cherry and a hint of mint unfold on the nose and palate, complemented by fine roasted notes and subtle spice. The finish is characterized by minerals and leaves an elegant, lasting impression.

The Wittmann Spätburgunder is a versatile accompaniment to white meat, poultry, tender game or hearty vegetarian dishes. It also harmonizes well with pasta and risotto dishes with mushrooms. Served at 14-16 °C, it reveals its full fruitiness, fine spiciness and elegant structure.

Salwey Grosses Gewächs Kirchberg Spätburgunder
This wine comes from vineyards with gradients of 30%. It matured for up to 14 months in barriques made of Kaiserstuhl oak: The Salwey Grosses Gewächs (Grand Cru) Kirchberg Spätburgunder is a very special ambassador for viniculture from Baden. It has an intense bouquet hinting of typical cherry aromas, essential oils and smoky notes as well. This Spätburgunder is elegant and soft on the palate, very dense, with a fine tannin structure. The wine is full-bodied, with a long finish. To prevent the vines in the hot top terraces from producing jam aromas, most of the grapes are fermented with their stems. The Kirchberg vineyard measures about 7.5 acres and consists of weathered, stony, volcanic soil with lime inclusions. In 2006, some of the terraces were restored to the original steep slopes, from which the grapes are harvested today. You’ll want to discover this pure varietal, dry Spätburgunder with oxtail stewed in Spätburgunder wine, ratatouille and rosemary polenta.
