Merlot isn’t exactly the most widely grown grape variety in Germany. Nevertheless, it’s becoming increasingly popular—especially when, as in this Ruppertsberger Merlot, it’s vinified to bring out its delicate fruitiness. In sun-drenched years, the grape produces full-bodied and harmonious wines. This wonderfully fruity wine is light and understated, yet its subtle sweetness gives it distinct character. On the palate, it’s soft and pleasantly easy to drink.

Try the Ruppertsberger Merlot with delicate fruit notes alongside blue cheese, such as Bleu de Wolvega, or a chocolate mousse.

Enhanced with spices, this fruity, slightly sweeter red wine is also a perfect base for making mulled wine. Just the thing for all fans of this aromatic hot beverage.

Fruchtig, spritzig und wunderbar leicht ist der Cielo e Terra 9° Rosé Frizzante. Der leicht perlende Rosé wird aus Merlot-Trauben hergestellt. Die Gärung mit selektierten Hefen findet bei kontrollierter Temperatur statt. Anschließend reift der Perlwein in Edelstahltanks. Die Nase ist fruchtig mit Aromen von Erdbeeren, Himbeeren, Birnen und roten Johannisbeeren und leichten blumigen Noten. Am Gaumen ist der halbtrockene Frizzante fruchtig und erfrischend.Der geringe Alkoholgehalt von nur 9 Vol% macht den Cielo e Terra 9° Rosé Frizzante zu einem idealen Terrassen- und Sommerwein, der sowohl als Aperitif als auch als Begleiter zu sommerlichen Speisen eine gute Figur macht.

The Meerlust Merlot comes from the traditional Meerlust Estate in Stellenbosch - a wine estate that has been synonymous with top South African wines for centuries. This single-varietal Merlot cuvée impressively demonstrates how complex and long-lasting the grape variety can be vinified in the cooler locations of the Cape Winelands.The wine shines a deep ruby red in the glass. Intense aromas of black plums, dark cherries and fine herbs unfold on the nose, accompanied by hints of mocha, tobacco and subtle spice. On the palate, the Merlot is powerful and juicy with ripe, dark fruit flavors and a present but elegant acidity. Notes of cherry tobacco, black pepper and delicate wood provide multi-layered depth. The finish is long, structured and supported by fine-grained tannins - a wine with excellent ageing potential.The wine is aged for a total of 18 months: first, the individual vineyards are vinified separately and matured in small French barriques. After blending, the wine is matured further in oak, with around 40% new wood being used. The wine is then further refined in the bottle before being sold.Meerlust Merlot is an excellent accompaniment to braised lamb, fillet of beef with mushroom jus, mature hard cheese or pasta with dark sauces. Enjoy it at a drinking temperature of 16-18 °C.The Meerlust Merlot has an intense, dark color in the glass. The bouquet combines notes of brambly fruit, mulberry, licorice and damson plum, with a hint of dark chocolate and spices. On the palate, this red wine offers generous Merlot fruit, with structured acidity and yet soft tannins, as well as a pronounced length and minerality.The Merlot from the Meerlust winery is an excellent accompaniment to red meat, game and strong cheeses.
