Thomas Hensel ist einer von 20 Winzer aus Bad Dürkheim. Sein 17-Hektar Weinberg befindet sich direkt neben dem lokalen „Flughafen“. Die Familie Hensel besitzt seit über 300 Jahren ihre Lagen in und um Bad Dürkheim. Reben wurden hier seit jeher im großen Rahmen veredelt. So war es nicht verwunderlich, dass Thomas Hensels Händchen für die Pflanze und sein Gespür für trendige Rebsorten ihn zu einem aufstrebenden qualitätsbewussten Winzer machte.

Die Philosophie von Thomas Hensel basiert auf höchsten Qualitätsansprüchen durch Handarbeit im Weinberg und selektive Lese nur gesunder Trauben bei schonendem Ausbau. Hensels Weingut ist wie er selbst jung. Seine Weine jedoch, die haben sich bereits fest etabliert.

The Hensel Aufwind Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Rosé presents itself in a strong garnet red. The wine's color is as intense as its aroma is expressive. The first thing you notice is the scent of strawberries and raspberries, followed by red bell pepper and a hint of vanilla with a light herbal spice. On the palate, the dry rosé wine is complex and powerful, almost reminiscent of a red wine.The Cabernet Sauvignon provides a fine tannin structure and a lush volume. The Merlot brings a beautiful fruity note and harmonizes the Aufwind rosé wonderfully. This makes the wine from the Palatinate suitable for a summer barbecue as well as a warming companion in fall and winter.

Hensel und Gretel Cuvée Weißwein

Friendships such as the one between wine-makers Thomas Hensel and Markus Schneider count for a lot. Both come from the Palatinate and both of them create their own outstanding wines, so it was only logical that Hensel and Schneider decided to collaborate on a joint project.They created the Hensel and Gretel Weißwein (white wine), amongst others. This cuvée consists of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. It is a fine, shimmering gold in the glass. On the nose, the wine surprises connoisseurs with an abundance of fruit aromas such as notes of apples, pears and tropical fruit like melon, peaches and passion fruit.On the palate, the Hensel and Gretel Weisswein is marvellously powerful and expressive. It is a multi-faceted, complex wine that is a genuine delight right from the first sip. The wine was aged in second-fill wooden casks, leading to light notes of smoke and oak. The finish is slightly sweet.The Hensel and Gretel Weißwein is not only a lovely terrace wine but is also a wonderful accompaniment to light dishes.

With 40 months of bottle fermentation on the lees, this fine brut is one of the most elaborate and highest quality Lugana sparkling wines. It comes from the Azienda Agricola Bulgarini, which stands for fine, characterful wines with a regional identity.In the glass, this sparkling wine shines in a brilliant straw yellow with a fine, rising perlage. Hensel Höhenflug Cuvée red wine

The Hensel Höhenflug Cuvée red wine proves that the international grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah can also produce outstanding wines in Germany.Strictly selected grapes from the estate's best vineyards are blended together to create this cuvée. The wine smells of clove pepper and has notes of hot black pepper. This is accompanied by notes of sour cherries and dried leaves.The maturation in heavily toasted wooden barrels also gives the Höhenflug Cuvée red wine a fine woody note, which is surrounded by cassis, elderberry and blackberry. On the palate, the wine is incredibly multi-layered and complex.Despite its power, the Höhenflug Cuvée is wonderfully balanced and finishes with aromas of tobacco and vanilla.
