The Delaire Graff estate is renowned for its elegant, multi-layered wines. The Banghoek Chardonnay from the eponymous valley located northwest of Stellenbosch in South Africa is the best evidence of this. The valley provides ideal conditions for the Chardonnay grapes, sufficient humidity and balanced sunlight on the slopes. The grapes were harvested by hand in the cool morning hours over a period of 14 days, based on the grapes’ level of maturity. After pressing, the wine was fermented in barrels. Subsequently, the Delaire Graff Banghoek Chardonnay matured for 10 months in barriques, of which 40% were new French oak casks.

The wine has a wonderfully clear bouquet hinting of vanilla and peaches, along with nuances of honey. On the palate, the Banghoek Chardonnay is multi-layered, marvellously fresh and very elegant. Its long-lasting finish is characterised by a lovely minerality.

Thomas Hensel ist einer von 20 Winzer aus Bad Dürkheim. Sein 17-Hektar Weinberg befindet sich direkt neben dem lokalen „Flughafen“. Die Familie Hensel besitzt seit über 300 Jahren ihre Lagen in und um Bad Dürkheim. Reben wurden hier seit jeher im großen Rahmen veredelt. So war es nicht verwunderlich, dass Thomas Hensels Händchen für die Pflanze und sein Gespür für trendige Rebsorten ihn zu einem aufstrebenden qualitätsbewussten Winzer machte.

Die Philosophie von Thomas Hensel basiert auf höchsten Qualitätsansprüchen durch Handarbeit im Weinberg und selektive Lese nur gesunder Trauben bei schonendem Ausbau. Hensels Weingut ist wie er selbst jung. Seine Weine jedoch, die haben sich bereits fest etabliert.

The Hensel Aufwind Pinot Gris comes from the renowned Palatinate region and is produced by the traditional Thomas Hensel winery in Bad Dürkheim. Thomas Hensel is one of 20 winegrowers from Bad Dürkheim. His 17-hectare vineyard is located right next to the local "airport" - or rather sports airfield. Thomas is ambitious, energetic and courageous enough to be innovative.The Hensel Aufwind Pinot Gris is a fruity, fresh Burgundy cuvée with aromas of ripe honeydew melon, yellow banana, Piedmont hazelnuts and bourbon vanilla. The subtle use of barriques adds complexity and spice to this wine without losing any of its freshness and independent character.
