Consisting of 46% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, Château Labégorce is a model wine from the Margaux appellation with a great price-performance ratio. 2019 was a particularly good year on the left bank of the Gironde, enabling this vineyard, located on the northern edge of Margaux, to produce an exceptional grape juice of great precision and intensity.

The 2019 Labégorce was matured in French oak, 40% of which was new barrels. Lots of blackcurrant, dark fruit, tobacco, coffee beans, dark cherry, chocolate, menthol, liquorice and beautiful roasted aromas create a harmonious aromatic picture, supported by fine and polished tannins. The typical Margaux finesse shines through here too, with a good balance of acidity and silky texture.

"A lot of Margaux for the money" could be the headline for this grape juice, which can also be enjoyed after 1-2 hours of decanting, but whose actual drinking maturity will begin in 2024.

Following a long tradition, the German winery Van Volxem has vinified this wonderful Riesling. The Van Volxem Riesling Schonfels GG dry is a real treat and will have Riesling lovers raving.The Riesling grapes have an excellent terroir. Ancient marine deposits and a cool but balanced climate prevail on the steep slopes of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. The Schonfels site is located on a steep south-east facing slope. Excellent for ripening the grapes, which are harvested by hand in October.The fragrance of the Van Volxem Riesling Schonfels GG dry is delicate and floral, with notes of peach, apricot, almond, pear, plum and lime. The white wine shows depth and ripe fruit with hints of spices and herbs. If you give this wonderful Riesling a little air, creamy aromas emerge. Its finish is dry and lingers long in the mouth.A perfect accompaniment to asparagus, light meat dishes and oriental cuisine.

Château Charmail, located in the north of the Médoc, is the neighbor of Sociando-Mallet and has an exceptionally good terroir close to the Gironde. Formerly dormant, this estate woke up a few decades ago and produces fresh and fruity wines that have propelled Château Charmail into the top league of the Left Bank. It is important to bear in mind that the prices for this grape juice are still more than moderate, making Charmail one of the absolute price-performance winners in the whole of Bordeaux. The 2019 vintage is also exceptionally successful and is considered part of the century trilogy (2018-2020).A wonderfully deep ruby red glows in the glass. On the nose, the typically delicate fruit of Château Charmail, with cassis, blackberries, redcurrants and a hint of elderberry. On the palate, the red and blueberry character intensifies, framed by tobacco, licorice, leather and a little graphite, as well as mint and cedar. Everything is very fresh and harmonious, with good structure and race and some residual sweetness, which balances wonderfully with the intense fruit. Although the tannins are present, they are not over-represented, but appear polished and polished. The finish is extremely long.Château Charmail 2019 is a winner in its price category and scores even higher. Der Carmes de Rieussec 2022 stammt aus dem berühmten Weingut Château Rieussec in der Appellation Sauternes, Bordeaux. Château Rieussec ist für seine edelsüßen Weine bekannt, und der Carmes de Rieussec ist der Zweitwein des Hauses. Wie der Grand Vin wird er aus den typischen Rebsorten der Region gekeltert: 58% Sémillon,  25% Sauvignon Blanc und 17% Muscadelle. Diese Trauben profitieren stark vom Einfluss der Flüsse Garonne und Ciron, die das für Sauternes so typische Mikroklima schaffen und den Befall der Trauben mit Edelfäule (Botrytis cinerea) begünstigen.Der Carmes de Rieussec 2022 zeigt sich in der Nase opulent und reichhaltig. Noten von Honig, Aprikosen, Pfirsichenund Zitrusfrüchten dominieren das Bukett, gepaart mit zarten floralen Nuancen und einem Hauch von Vanille und Gewürzen durch den Ausbau im Holzfass. Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Wein seidig und konzentriert, mit einer perfekt ausbalancierten Süße, die durch eine lebendige Säure im Hintergrund frisch gehalten wird.Im Abgang hinterlässt der Wein einen langanhaltenden Eindruck von tropischen Früchten und einem angenehmen Honigton, ohne dabei überladen oder schwer zu wirken. Der 2022er Jahrgang zeichnet sich durch seine Jugendlichkeit und Frische aus, was ihn bereits in seiner frühen Reifephase zugänglich macht, obwohl er mit der Zeit sicher an Komplexität gewinnen wird.Der Carmes de Rieussec 2022 ist ein eleganter, gut strukturierter Sauternes, der die Essenz der Region und die Handwerkskunst des Château Rieussec wunderbar widerspiegelt. Er eignet sich hervorragend als Begleiter zu Desserts, Gänseleber oder auch einfach als luxuriöser Genuss für sich allein.
