Dieser Saint Émilion Grand Cru, der auf nur 7ha in der kleinen Gemeinde Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens hergestellt wird, ist seit über 150 Jahren im Besitz der Familie Elliès.

Der Barrail du Blanc ist von einem tiefen Karminrot. Es dominiert die Frucht, im Verbund mit guten, kräftigen Tanninen, die sich ein Stelldichein mit etwas Vanille und Röstaromen geben. Der Abgang ist lang und nachhaltig.

Ein klasse Saint Émilion zu einem sehr moderaten Preis.

Gut zu deftigen Gerichten, Geschmortem und Gegrilltem und Pasta; auch Solo ein Genuss!

Die Familien Moulin und Cathiard haben 2014 Beauregard übernommen und die Qualität nochmals auf ein höheres Niveau gehoben. Dem Benjamin de Beauregard kommt dabei bei der Weinbereitung die selbe Sorgfalt zu, wie dem Grand Vin. Die Ernte wird auf Beauregard vollständig manuell ausgeführt. Der Benjamin wird im Holzfass ausgebaut, mit 30% Neufassanteil. Er ist von rubinroter Farbe. Die Nase umschmeicheln milde Düfte von dunklen Kirschen, Paprika, Karamell, Pflaumen und Kräutern. Am Gaumen überwiegen vor allem die Früchte und die feine Struktur imponiert. Der Abgang ist ebenfalls durch dunkle Früchte charakterisiert. Der Wein zeigt eine schöne Balance und Ausgeglichenheit. Er ist jetzt bereits nach etwas dekantieren trinkreif, bleibt aber durchaus noch 8 Jahren auf dem Höhepunkt. Köstlich in Kombination mit rotem Fleisch, Wildgerichten und Käse.

This Côtes du Rhône Villages AOP is an extraordinary wine. The team of the La Nerthe winery, which has been based in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region since the 14th century, maintains the Les Cassagnes vineyards located in Sérignan-du-Comtat, France. The grapes for this wine are selected exclusively from the best parcels of land. The soil consists of sand, clay and limestone, providing natural filtration and creating full-bodied, well-balanced wines.The grapes come from vines with an average age of more than 40 years. This cuvée consists mainly of Grenache Noir, Shiraz and a smaller percentage of Mourvèdre.The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a further selection process upon arrival in the cellar. Subsequently, the grape varieties are fermented separately for a period of three weeks. The extraction is carried out very carefully in order to maintain the fruit aromas and to preserve a good tannin structure. Before bottling, the wine finally matures for 9 months in stainless steel tanks, remaining in contact with the yeast.The Les Cassagnes AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Rouge is a deep, dark red in colour. On the palate, it impresses wine connoisseurs with an appealing body that’s not overly full, showing a very silky texture. Aromas of red berries, wonderful notes recalling perfume and sweet nuances of spices lead to an exquisite, prolonged finish.Served at a drinking temperature of 14-16°C (57.2-60.8 °F), the Les Cassagnes goes beautifully with grilled lamb or beef, pasta Bolognese or ratatouille. We recommend enjoying this wine with ‘Tian’, a vegetable gratin speciality from the Provence region, made of tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, thyme and oregano. Simply delicious!

Château Charmail ist bekannt dafür, Weine zu produzieren, die sehr häufig deutlich besser punkten, als es ihr Preis erahnen liesse. Charmail, als Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel klassifiziert, wurde durch Oliver Seze in den 1980er Jahren übernommen und einer "Roßkur" der Erneuerung unterzogen, bis die Weine wieder das Niveau des Terroirs erreichten, auf dem ihre Reben wachsen. Als Nachbar von Sociando-Mallet und Phélan-Ségur, ist die Gironde nicht weit und der Wein inzwischen einer der Besten im Haut-Médoc. Nach wie vor ist Seze als Berater tätig, hat aber das Weingut an das Gespann Bernard d´Halluin und dessen Tochter Marie übergeben.2018 ist das erste Jahr der "Traum-Trilogie" 2018, 2019 und 2020, welche herausragende Weine im Bordelais hervorbrachte. Die Cuvée besteht aus 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc und 8% Petit Verdot.Der Appeal dieses Weines setzt sich aus seiner Cremigkeit und feiner Frucht, mit darunter liegender süßer Aromatik zusammen. Blaue und schwarze Beeren, Cassis, Tabak, Schokolade erfreuen die Nase. Am Gaumen seidig, mit mittlerem-vollem Körper, Toast-Noten vom Holz, die jedoch nicht dominieren und geschliffene Tannine. Der Ausklang hält lange an.Schon jetzt ist dieser elegante und ausgewogen wirkende Haut-Médoc trinkreif, allerdings erst nach etwa einer Stunde Dekantieren. Er dürfte jedoch noch eine Spanne von mindestens 15 Jahren vor sich haben, richtige Lagerung natürlich vorausgesetzt.

Der 2018er Plince erscheint uns besonders gelungen. Er besteht aus 79% Merlot und 21% Cabernet Franc. Etwas Mocca, Schokolade, Politur, Erdbeeren, Brombeeren und Kaffee, Pralinen und Aromen von Nüssen prägen das Nasenbild. Das Tannin ist feingliedrig, das Mundgefühl unwahrscheinlich cremig und der Abgang durchaus lang.Man sollte ihn mindestens 2 Stunden dekantieren, wenn man ihn jetzt schon geniessen möchte. Lieber sollte man noch bis 2024 warten; dann wird er mindestens 15 Jahre auf dem Höhepunkt des Genusses bleiben.René Gabriel: 18/20 Punkte; James Suckling: 93-94/100 Punkte; Winespectator: 92-95/100 Punkte.

This classic Côtes du Rhône of the exceptional 2017 vintage is produced by one of the oldest wineries of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation (AOC) that was founded in 1936. The Château La Nerthe estate had its origins in the 14th century and owns one of the region’s largest vineyards, covering an area of more than 222 acres.Tradition and attention to detail are of central importance. The grapes are harvested by hand and subsequently sorted on the table. The fermentation is carried out in tubs for a period of 18 to 21 days with regular pumping over and pressing down of the pomace as well as daily tasting of the must in order to reach the optimal extraction level. For malolactic fermentation, the Château La Nerthe Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2017 was put in oak casks and subsequently aged in barrels for 12 months, giving the wine its deep red colour. On the nose, it offers fragrances of black currants, black tea and dried flowers. The wine is full-bodied, fruity and very rich on the palate, showing a great body. All in all, the Château La Nerthe Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2017 has a very pure and intense character.We recommend enjoying this wonderful Châteauneuf-du-Pape with lamb, beef or duck.

The Château du Gazin vineyards are located in the well-known Canon Fronsac appellation, north-east of Bordeaux, very close to Saint Émilion and Pomerol.On about 30 hectares of vineyards, the Robert family, now in its third generation, produces a red wine that is made of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec and does not require any sulphur. The work in the vineyard is also carried out with the minimum use of chemicals. The dry wine from France is HVE 3 certified, the highest level of natural wine production.The Château du Gazin 2018, aged for 18 months in barrels, simply blew us away and shows the wonderful fruit and intensity of the exceptional 2018 vintage. It has a deep ruby red colour. The nose shows strawberry, cassis, some nutmeg, notes of caramel and some cocoa. Round, full-bodied on the palate, with silky and fresh tannins, supported by lots of red fruit, strawberries, cherries, some pepper and mocha. The aftertaste is impressively long.Make sure you get this price-performance miracle, which cuts a fine figure both on its own and with game, braised, grilled or matured cheese.The wine critics were also enthusiastic: James Suckling: 92/100; Neil Martin in Vinous: 90/100; Beckustator: 91/100.

Dieser Saint Èmilion Grand Cru aus dem Ausnahmejahr 2015 vom aufstrebenden Château Fonplegade ist ein klassischer Vertreter dieser Appellation. Unter Mitwirkung des Star-Önologen Stéphane Derenoncourt produzieren die Eigentümer Denise und Stephen Adams hier Jahr für Jahr wundervoll schmeichlerische Weine und scheuen dabei keine Kosten und Mühen. Als Beispiel sein genannt, dass die Assemblage, bestehend aus 95% Merlot und 5% Cabernet Franc, 16-20 Monate in 50% neuer französischer Eiche reift. 30% des Weins darf in einjährigen Eichenfässern schlummern, 10% in Betongefässen und 10% in Amphoren.Der Wein ist von tiefem Purpur, mit schönem Granat am Rand. 2015 bringt zum samtigen und fülligen Bouquet, dass durch reife Brombeeren überzeugt, auch noch ein gutes Stück Komplexität mit. Insgesamt ein echter Schmeichler, der durch die vorhandenen, aber gut einbauten Tannine in einer schönen Balance gehalten wird.

This Bordeaux Supérieur is produced by the Château Lajarre estate located southeast of Saint Émilion. In 2005, the doctor Grégory Lovato, aged 29 at the time, took possession of the winery in order to continue his grandparents’ legacy of wine-making. The Château Lajarre Cuvée Eléonore is an assemblage consisting of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc so typical of right-bank Bordeaux wines. This wine shows good fruit and simultaneously enough structure to enjoy it right now or in 2-3 years.Of course, the year 2016 also plays a special role in this cuvée; rarely have there been, even at the level of Bordeaux Supérieur, such expressive and distinctive wines as in this exceptional vintage.The wine is a lovely, brilliant and clear red in the glass. It is powerful on the nose, offering aromas of red currants and strawberries, nuances of cherries and subtle hints of cassis and toast. It is elegant on the palate, with lots of fruit such as blackberries, as well as cassis and caramelized hazelnuts together with beautifully balanced, well-integrated tannins and a counterbalancing acidity.
