This Bordeaux Supérieur is produced by the Château Lajarre estate located southeast of Saint Émilion. In 2005, the doctor Grégory Lovato, aged 29 at the time, took possession of the winery in order to continue his grandparents’ legacy of wine-making. The Château Lajarre Cuvée Eléonore is an assemblage consisting of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc so typical of right-bank Bordeaux wines. This wine shows good fruit and simultaneously enough structure to enjoy it right now or in 2-3 years.

Of course, the year 2016 also plays a special role in this cuvée; rarely have there been, even at the level of Bordeaux Supérieur, such expressive and distinctive wines as in this exceptional vintage.

The wine is a lovely, brilliant and clear red in the glass. It is powerful on the nose, offering aromas of red currants and strawberries, nuances of cherries and subtle hints of cassis and toast. It is elegant on the palate, with lots of fruit such as blackberries, as well as cassis and caramelized hazelnuts together with beautifully balanced, well-integrated tannins and a counterbalancing acidity. The finish is soft and medium-long.

This wine is a real insider’s tip, showing the spirit of a Saint-Émilion; its body and price are those of a Bordeaux Supérieur.

We recommend enjoying the Château Lajarre Cuvée Eléonore 2016 with spicy meals, braised dishes, pasta or ripe cheeses.

On the nose, it offers intense aromas of cherries, black currants and spices. It is very velvety on the palate, showing lots of fruit, notes of amarena cherries and a full body. The finish is long and fruity. The fine and already well-integrated tannins underpin the wine’s structure. We recommend decanting the wine a while before drinking it. It can already be enjoyed now but will further improve over at least five more years.This Bordeaux is a wonderful everyday wine and lovely to enjoy on its own. It is also a good accompaniment to grilled dishes, meat pies, game, duck, quails or ripe cheeses. You won’t find a better bargain for Bordeaux!

Dieser Rotwein aus der AOC Francs-Côtes de Bordeaux ist eine Assemblage aus 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc und 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Die Rebstöcke, auf bestem Kalk-Sandstein Terroir gelegen, sind im Schnitt 30 Jahre alt. Michel und Rina Guillon sind die Besitzer dieses uralten Familienbetriebs, der 10 ha Rebgarten umfasst und seit vier Generationen von Vater zu Sohn weitergegeben wird.Dem Wein merkt man die Hingabe seiner Schöpfer an. Im Glas begrüßt uns ein tiefes und funkelndes Dunkelrot. Der Guillon-Nardou zeigt eine reiche Palette von dunklen Beeren, Johannisbeeren und Brombeeren, etwas Cassis und Tabak. Am Gaumen sehr rund und voluminös, mit schöner Struktur und sehr geschliffenen Tanninen. Der Nachhall ist wunderbar lang.Ein toller „Every-day“-Bordeaux, mit einem sagenhaften Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Er ist jetzt nach etwa einer Stunde Dekantieren trinkreif, ist aber mindestens noch bis 2025 in seinem Zenit.Zu Wild, Pasta, gereiftem Käse oder mit Freunden eine echte Empfehlung!

Der Jahrgang 2016 steht für außergewöhnlich gute Weine aus dem Bordelais und unterstreicht den Charakter der Weine aus der Region, die für ihre Balance und Ausgewogenheit und schöne Frucht bekannt sind. All dieses ist in diesem Wein mehr als reichlich vertreten. Die Reben für den Moulin de l'Espérance sind im Schnitt 35 Jahre alt und seine Trauben wurden auf traditionelle Methode in Stahltanks vergoren. Sein Cuvée besteht zu 70% aus Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc und 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Der Rebsaft erfreut das Auge des Kenners mit einem tiefen Granat-Rot. In der Nase viele Aromen von roten Früchten. Am Gaumen schmeichelt der Merlotanteil mit gutem Körper und einer schönen Samtigkeit, mit bereits sehr gut integrierten Tanninen. Auch am Gaumen überzeugen die Noten von roten Früchten. Der Abgang ist für einen Bordeaux Sup ausgesprochen lang. Viel Bordeaux im Glas für sehr wenig Taler könnte die einfache Formel für diesen Wein lauten, der als gute-Laune Bordeaux, in geselliger Runde oder auch an schönen Sommerabenden auf der Terrasse auf der ganzen Linie überzeugt. Auch in Kombination mit Steak, Entenbrust, Hackgerichten, süßen Desserts oder Käse eine ausgezeichnete Wahl. Der Château Moulin de l'Esperance 2016 wird noch bis 2023 auf der Höhe der Trinkreife sein; danach wird er mehr Reifenoten aufweisen.
