With the Scheiblhofer St. Laurent, connoisseurs can look forward to another creation of Scheiblhofer's winemaking art that impresses with its price-performance ratio. The St. Laurent grape variety is a typical Austrian grape variety. The renowned Scheiblhofer winery from Burgenland knows how to bring out the full, highly aromatic qualities of the grapes.

This Austrian red wine shines ruby red in the glass. It smells of fresh blackberries and sour cherries. There are also subliminal oak notes and hints of cocoa and coffee. On the palate, the single-varietal St. Laurent is full-bodied and aromatically fruity, with very restrained tannins and an uncomplicated finish.

The Scheiblhofer St. Laurent was matured for five months in second-fill barriques. Enjoy this red wine from Burgenland at a drinking temperature of 16 degrees. This approachable creation from Erich Scheiblhofer, Austria's Winemaker of the Year 2021 (Falstaff magazine), is a fine accompaniment to baked lamb medallions, rack of lamb in puff pastry or a Znaimer goulash.

The vines for the Dürnberg Zweigelt Bodenschatz grow on weathered lacustrine lime and clay soils. The soil is rich in humus, which stores water well. The fully ripe, healthy grapes are harvested at the beginning of October. After harvest, the burst grapes are fermented in tubs for two weeks initially. Afterwards, they are pressed and aged for five to eight months partly in 500-litre oak casks and partly in steel tanks, resulting in a complex, elegant red wine with a cool minerality.On the nose, the aromatic and well-balanced Zweigelt offers fine, spicy nuances, along with strong cherry aromas. In the nose, the wine is spicy with lovely flavours of wild berries and toasted notes, complemented by a brief hint of pepper. The mild to medium-bodied wine has a relatively youthful tannin content.The Bründlmayer Zweigelt matured in stainless steel tanks and in mostly used Austrian oak casks. Mordor (‚Schwarzes Land‘) ist in der weltberühmten „Der Herr der Ringe“-Saga der Hort des Bösen in Mittelerde, dem fiktiven Schauplatz der Saga. Der Rotwein Scheiblhofer Mordor ist ebenfalls kraftvoll und zieht Genießerinnen und Genießer sofort in seinen Bann. Bedrohlich ist die Kreation aus dem Burgenland allerdings keinesfalls. Im Gegenteil: Glücklich kann sich schätzen, wer eine Flasche dieser hochwertigen Assemblage aus Blaufränkisch, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon und Syrah (Shiraz) öffnen darf.Der tief dunkle, granatrote Wein duftet herrlich animierend nach schwarzen Brombeeren und Orangenzesten (dünne Streifen der äußersten, farbigen Schicht aus der Schale). Diese Noten harmonieren wunderbar mit einer rauchig-würzigen Untermalung und Tönen von Edelholz, Nougat und Schokolade. Am Gaumen ist der Rotwein aus dem Burgenland kraftvoll und dicht, wieder mit intensiv fruchtig-würzigen Aromen (Schokolade, Kirsche, leichte Süße im Nachklang). Die Tannine sind gekonnt harmonisch eingebunden.12 Monate wurde der österreichische Rotwein in neuen, französischen Barriques ausgebaut. Der Scheiblhofer Mordor ist noch bis in die frühen 2030er-Jahre ein Hochgenuss.

‘The Uprising’ is a wine that was aged for 30 days in rum barrels and is a tribute to Australia’s Rum Rebellion of 1808. As the rum trade was hindered by the government at that time, citizens and soldiers joined together to bring down the government. The ageing in rum barrels gives this wine its dark, jammy body and a finish characterised by notes of warm brown sugar.The grapes for the 19 Crimes ‘The Uprising’ come from selected vineyards that are renowned for their spice and concentration, giving the wine its great intensity and sensational flavour. In the 2019 vintage, the Shiraz grape variety is predominant, giving the wine light notes of raspberries and a fine tannin structure. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes produce lovely blackberry aromas and ensure fullness and structure on the palate. The ‘The Uprising’ is rounded off by a smaller percentage of Grenache, giving the wine its spice and sweet fruitiness. On the nose, the wine offers intense notes of mocha, caramel and baking flavours.Like all wines of the 19 crimes line, ‘The Uprising’ has a history of its own:The man depicted on the label was a member of the Fenian brotherhood from Skibbereen in Ireland who played a major role in the Fenian movement right from the beginning. In 1864, he was arrested, found guilty, sentenced to ten years in prison and deported to Australia.
