From farm to winery. Pfaffl has developed rapidly since it was founded in 1978 and was even voted European Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast. The Pfaffl winery is at home in Austria's largest wine-growing region. Lower Austria stands for loess soils, warm days and cool nights. An excellent terroir for the Riesling grapes of Pfaffl Vom Haus Riesling.

After the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and crushed. Before pressing, they are left on the skins for 2 hours. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 18°C in stainless steel tanks.

In the glass, Pfaffl's Vom Haus Riesling is light yellow in color. The bouquet combines notes of mandarin, peach, apricot and pear. On the palate, the white wine is wonderfully fruity and fresh and dry. You can taste something salty and mineral in the aftertaste.

Serve the wine at a drinking temperature of 10-12°C with a salad with feta.

Innovativ und bodenständig präsentiert sich das Weingut R&A Pfaffl im Weinviertel. Trotz seiner Größe von beachtlichen 67 ha Weinbaufläche in Niederösterreich und Wien ist es ein Familienbetrieb von besonderem Charme.

Hinter den Topweinen der Region steht die fünfköpfige Pfaffl-Familie. Die Geschwister Roman, Elisabeth und Heidemarie arbeiten mit ihren Eltern Roman und Adelheid voller Elan und Hingabe an ihren Weinen. Eine Symbiose aus fortschrittlichem Denken und jahrelanger Erfahrung ergibt ein Sortiment, welches nicht nur in Österreich geschätzt wird, sondern auch in aller Welt Weinkenner überzeugt.

Für einen erstklassigen Wein braucht man erstklassige Trauben. Beste Lagen mit ihren unterschiedlichen Böden sind dafür eine Grundvoraussetzung.

Die Bewirtschaftung der Weingärten erfolgt nach dem Prinzip des integrierten Weinbaus, bei dem die Natur und deren Erhaltung im Vordergrund stehen.

Der 1000-Eimerberg ist das eindrucksvollste Wahrzeichen des österreichischen Ortes Spitz. Rund 1000 Eimer (1 Eimer = ca.56 Liter) Wein sollen von diesem Berhang einst geerntet worden sein. Hier wachsen die Riesling Reben des Gritsch Riesling Federspiel 1000 Eimerberg. Für das Weingut Gritsch bedeutet die steile Hangneigung (bis zu 70%) des 1000 Eimerberges, dass nur eine Ernte von Hand möglich ist. Nach der Ernte folgen eine schonende Pressung und Verarbeitung der Trauben. Die Gärung findet temperaturkontrolliert in Stahltanks statt, woraufhin der Ausbau auf der Feinhefe folgt.Hervorgebracht wird ein lebhafter Weißwein mit heller Frucht und einer knackigen Säure. Anklänge von Zitrusfrüchten, ein geradliniger und filigraner Charakter und die schiefrige Mineralität sind typische Merkmale für diesen Riesling. Das Bouquet bietet dezente Anklänge von Marillen und Limonen. Am Gaumen präsentieren sich etwas Pfirsich und Zitruszesten.

Der Riesling QbA trocken "M.P." von Karl Pfaffmann aus der Pfalz ist ein feinfruchtiger und mineralischer Weißwein. Das Weingut setzt auf nachhaltige Pflege der Böden und diese Sorgfalt spiegelt sich in den Weinen. Frische Äpfel, Ananas und ein Hauch Zitrone sind die charakteristischen Noten dieses Rieslings. The wine unites notes of sweet berries (blackberries, wild berries and cherries) and intense nuances of dried fruit in its bouquet. On the palate, the popular red wine from South Italy is wonderfully aromatic, velvety and full-bodied, with finely integrated tannins, showing a great density.The impressive, deep aromas and the full body of the Doppio Passo Primitivo are based on a traditional production process, which is similar to the Ripasso di Valpolicella method. After the first fermentation, the wine is added to the grape skins once again for a second fermentation. During this second step of the ‘double process’ (doppio passo), the wine extracts colour, aromas and a fine hint of sweetness from the skins once more.
