The Pfaffl Wien.1 is a white wine cuvée full of character from the renowned R&A Pfaffl winery in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria.

The traditional Viennese “Gemischter Satz” served as the inspiration for this blend from the Pfaffl Winery in Lower Austria. Although the vineyards are now planted with single varieties so that the harvest date can be adapted to the needs of each variety, the idea of combining the advantages of multiple varieties in a single white wine remains. The approximately 21-year-old vines come from Viennese vineyards and bring the essence of Vienna straight to the glass. The grapes were hand-selected directly in the vineyard.

Truly Viennese, fruity, and refreshing, this dry cuvée features a fruity, aromatic Riesling (60%) with lively acidity, a full-bodied Pinot Blanc, and a spicy Veltliner (20% each). The Pfaffl Wien.1 is ideal with Viennese cuisine and is very refreshing and delightful in the summer! Enjoy this delightful wine at a serving temperature of 10–12 °C.

For the fifth consecutive year, in 2024, the Pfaffl Winery was honored with the special “BEST PRODUCER AUSTRIA” award by the international wine competition MUNDUS VINI.

The grapes for this wine were harvested by hand. The wine matured for 3 months in stainless steel tanks before it was bottled in Burgundy bottles with screwcaps.The Pfaffl Gemischter Satz Harmony also expresses the return to the distinctive character of such cuvées. The focus on pure varietal wines pushed these blends into the background for a long time, but they are now being increasingly rediscovered. The wines from the Weinviertel region, the biggest Austrian wine-growing area extending over approximately 44,479 acres, are often influenced by the Grüner Veltliner grape variety. Medium-bodied, lively acidity, very harmonious and with a fruity and spicy finish. A characteristic Federspiel from Grüner Veltliner, subtle and very racy.Ideal well chilled from the fridge at approx. 8°C. The wine can be drunk young, but also has 2-3 years of ageing potential. Excellent with baked dishes such as Wiener Schnitzel, poultry and various fish dishes. The vegan wine is also a wonderful accompaniment to vegetarian burgers and grilled vegetables.Origin and terroirThe entire Wachau region with its special microclimate and primary rock soil is the area of origin. Only grapes from terraced vineyards are used for this wine.
