Langmeil 'Hangin’ Snakes' Shiraz
Speaking a local dialect known as ‘Barossa-Deutsch', a blend of German and English that embodies much of the history of the district, one of Langmeil's best growers doesn't curse, just as his forebears didn't, but in the heat of vintage is oft heard to mutter "Hangin' Snakes!”.Since rejuvenating the abandoned 19th Century vineyards and cellars, in less than two decades Langmeil has created an enviable worldwide reputation for its coveted Shiraz.Enjoy this wine with rice dishes or poultry.

Langmeil 'Valley Floor' Shiraz
The Barossa Region is known for its viticulture and wine making. At its heart is the valley floor, a rich strip of land exposed to the driest conditions and home to some of the most select Shiraz vineyards of the area. The ‘Valley Floor Shiraz', like other premium wines of the Barossa, is a regional blended wine. Grapes are sourced from specially selected vineyards across all the sub regions of the Barossa from a range of different aged vines, select parcels of which are then open fermented and basket pressed to make this classic example of honest, hand made Barossa Valley Shiraz.

Red Heads King of Barossa Shiraz
The RedHeads King of Barossa Shiraz is a powerful red wine from the renowned Barossa Valley in Australia, a region known for its outstanding Shiraz wines. The RedHeads winery began as a small, rebellious winegrowing community that created exceptional wines in small batches - far removed from mass production. In the glass, this Shiraz presents itself in a deep dark red. The bouquet is dominated by intense aromas of dark berries such as blackberries and blackcurrants, complemented by notes of ripe plums, black pepper, eucalyptus and a hint of toast. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich with soft tannins, accompanied by spicy pepper and meaty notes. The wood maturation gives the wine additional complexity with hints of vanilla and toast. The grapes come from old vines, which ensure low yields but the highest quality. The vineyards are located directly next to those of the famous Torbrecks winery. After careful harvesting, they are gently processed and the wine ferments traditionally in open fermenters. The King of Barossa Shiraz then matures for 18 months in French and American oak barrels, which gives it its fine roasted aromas and velvety texture.A red wine with this intensity calls for powerful food! Perfect with grilled beef, rack of lamb, spicy BBQ dishes or strong, mature cheese. It also unfolds its full potential with braised dishes with a dark sauce. For optimum enjoyment, the RedHeads King of Barossa Shiraz should be served at a temperature of 16-18 °C. A brief decanting before serving can help to bring out the full aromas.

d'Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz
The pretty nose is very floral with violets, lavender and rose water dancing with the more varietal purple fruits and a touch of cedar adds charming spice. The palate opens with varietal bravado and a mixture of red and purple fruits. Raspberry, blueberry and plum make way for a regional mocha character and an extra layer of complexity that includes graphite and roasted meats. It finishes with a cinnamon spicy lift and fresh, fine grain powdery tannins. Ripeness is well in check and the acid keeps the fresh and juicy palate focused. Before being renamed The Footbolt Shiraz in 1996, the Old Vine Shiraz (as it was then known) was the first wine to use the term ‘Old Vine’. When this became common practice it was altered to honour a racehorse that changed the Osborn family forever. The founder of d’Arenberg, Joseph Osborn was a successful racehorse owner and Footbolt was the pride of his stable. In 1912 he made the hard decision to sell his stable of horses to start d’Arenberg, so it is only fitting they pay homage to Joseph and his prize horse, Footbolt.
