Once a neglected Old Vine Garden in Lyndoch, The Fifth Wave vineyard was rejuvenated by Langmeil and in 1999 winemaker Paul Lindner saw the potential of the Grenache from this unique vineyard and with tenacity convinced the owners to produce a straight varietal, in all likelihood the first time Grenache from this time honoured Old Vine Garden had been truly prized.

The 100% Grenache Langmeil Fifth Wave Grenache is based on 42+ and 90 year old vines. The wine matured for 21 month in 17% seasoned French oak and 83% seasoned American oak. On the nose aromas of dark cherry and raspberry fruits mingle with sweet spice, vanilla, hints of savoury roastiness and white pepper nuances. Ripe, red berry fruit flows onto the palate, melding into lovely sweet and briary spice. The finish lingers on a pepper and spice note with typical chalky and youthfully firm tannins.

Enjoy this wine together with pasta, pork, stew or different kinds of cheese.

Langmeil Jackman's Cabernet Sauvignon is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, based on 35+ year old vines. The wine matured 24 month in 50% new and 50% seasoned French oak Hogsheads. These are some of the fundamental components of a wonderful wine from the famous Barossa-region in South-Australia.The wine has a deep crimson colour with purple hues. On the nose lifted blackcurrants and blueberry aroma entwine with biscuity French oak, chocolate and hints of black olive and liquorice. On the palate bright, juicy. Blue and red fruits flow onto the palate which is medium to full bodied. Der Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz ist einer der besten Rotweine von dem Weingut Langmeil. Dieser trockene Wein ist perfekt geeignet für Feinschmecker, die möglichst wenig Süße im Wein schmecken wollen. Im Bouquet des australischen Rotweines finden sich Noten von Brombeeren, Heidelbeeren und Pflaumen kombiniert mit Vanille, Bitterschokolade und Zimt. Im Glas zeigt der besondere Wein eine leicht dunkle rote Farbe. Wenn er erstmal am Gaumen angelangt ist, entfaltet dieser Wein seine fruchtige Seite. Im Abgang wirkt dieser Shiraz würzig.Die Herkunft des Weines liegt in Australien, in der Region Barossa. Dort werden die Reben per Hand ausgelesen und sofort gepresst.Der Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz ist ein reinsortiger Shiraz, der sich am besten mit Gemüse oder Rinderfrikadellen essen lässt. Auch getrocknete Feigen oder Kabeljau eignen sich gut als Begleiter.

It has full, ripe fruit, supported by firm but fine tannins. The overall flavours and cherries and blackberries, with hints of mokka and spice.

With regard to the production process and the type of wine, the Penfolds Father Grand Tawny is similar to a port wine, though it is not allowed to bear the protected term ‘port’. However, this does not diminish the wine’s quality and characteristics - on the contrary, Penfolds, Australia’s most famous winery, has produced a genuine delight. The different base wines are at least 10 years old. Wines of an average of 15 different vintages unite to create the Penfolds Father Grand Tawny, thus ensuring that the nuances of each vintage produce a concentrated Tawny. The base wine is traditionally enriched with specially distilled alcohol containing between 78 and 85 of alcohol by volume, simultaneously increasing both the Tawny’s alcohol content and its complexity. In the glass, the Father Grand Tawny is a light brown of medium intensity with hints of yellow and green at the rim. On the nose, it offers wonderful notes of oak, chocolate, plums and roasted nuts, complemented by nuances of cloves and anise. On the palate, the Tawny shows its full power and elegance, offering sweet notes of fruitcake and concentrated wood aromas. Its finish is wonderfully balanced, fresh and long-lasting.The Penfolds Father Grand Tawny 10 Years is lovely on its own as an aperitif and goes beautifully with sweet desserts.
