Langmeil Jackaman’s Cabernet Sauvignon

Langmeil Jackman's Cabernet Sauvignon is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, based on 35+ year old vines. The wine matured 24 month in 50% new and 50% seasoned French oak Hogsheads. These are some of the fundamental components of a wonderful wine from the famous Barossa-region in South-Australia.

The wine has a deep crimson colour with purple hues. On the nose lifted blackcurrants and blueberry aroma entwine with biscuity French oak, chocolate and hints of black olive and liquorice. On the palate bright, juicy. Blue and red fruits flow onto the palate which is medium to full bodied. Briary spice adds to the complexity and the sweet fruit is well balanced with fine, silky tannins which lengthen the fruitful and velvity finish.

Langmeil 'Blacksmith' Cabernet Sauvignon
The artisan of iron has now made way for the new craftsman who has blended the oldest of Barossa traditions to forge this spectacular wine. Our Cabernet Sauvignon, the unsung hero of Barossa wine, has been matured in new (20%) and seasoned (80%) French Oak for two years, achieving the structure, depth and balance expected from this premium Australian grape growing region. In 1838 a 32 year old Blacksmith, Christian Auricht, arrived in South Australia from Prussia with his wife and four children. He subsequently settled in the new hamlet of Langmeil and built a smithy, around which grew the trading centre of the village.

Langmeil "Hangin’ Snakes" Shiraz
When one of Langmeil’s best winemakers speaks “Barossa German”—a local dialect that’s a mix of German and English and embodies much of the region’s history—it sounds like he’s cursing. But he isn’t, just as his ancestors never did. But in the heat of the moment, you might hear a muttered “Hangin’ Snakes!”After revitalizing the abandoned 19th-century vineyards and cellars, Langmeil has earned an enviable reputation for its globally sought-after Shiraz in less than two decades. The Langmeil Hangin’ Snakes Shiraz is a new style of wine, composed of 96% Shiraz and 4% Viognier. Both grape varieties are processed and fermented together, which beautifully highlights their respective flavor profiles. The Hangin’ Snakes glows ruby red and, with aromas of plums, black currants, Asian spices, and tobacco, displays a beautiful texture with fine tannins.Enjoy this Australian red wine with rice dishes or paired with poultry.

The Barossa region is known for its viticulture and winemaking. At its heart, on the valley floor, lies a fertile stretch of land that is exposed to the driest conditions and is also home to some of the region’s finest Shiraz vineyards.Like other premium Barossa wines, the Langmeil Valley Floor Shiraz is a regional blend. The grapes come from specially selected vineyards across all subregions of the Barossa, drawn from vines of varying ages on selected plots. Using a basket press and open fermentation, the result is a classic example of a Barossa Valley Shiraz crafted with honest, artisanal care. This ruby-red wine is the perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, hard cheeses, lamb, and stews.
