Tokara Director's Reserve Red

The Tokara Director's Reserve Red has a deep purple color with red brick tones on the rim. An intense and complex wine with aromas of dark berries and cassis on the nose. There are also notes of dark chocolate, herbs such as fennel, wonderfully complemented by nuances of mint, which are so typical of Tokara wines. Lush on the palate, characterized by aromas of mocha and ripe berries. The tannins are very present. Dry on the finish. The freshness and aromatic depth is long-lasting.Enjoy this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Petit Verdot (14%), Merlot (10%), Cabernet Franc (4%) and Malbec (2%) with veal or other meat dishes.The Tokara wine estate has three growing regions of its own: The heart of Tokara beats in Stellenbosch. This is where the wine estate's success story began on the southern slopes of the Simonsberg hill. The "Highlands" growing region is located in the Elgin district. On the "Kogelberg Mountain", more than 400 meters above sea level, mainly Sauvignon Blanc ripens. Finally, in the Hemel-en-Arde Valley near the picturesque coastal town of Hermanus, Tokara's Siberia growing region is located on the cool southern slopes of Babylonstoren Mountain, almost 300 meters above sea level.Three outstanding growing areas, characterized by a cool climate as well as sandy loam soils and deep red, fertile Tukulu soils, give Tokara the opportunity to create distinctive wines full of character.

This wine has a brilliant golden straw colour.This is a complex yet elegant wine. The nose is vibrant with intense aromas of quince, lemongrass and passion fruit with underlying notes of toasted brioche and almonds.The palate is full and rich with intense yellow fruit and green fruit flavours beautifully balanced with the seamless oaking that is evident from slight toasty notes on the finish. Tokara Shiraz

The wine has a brilliant deep garnet colour.The nose of this wine is an interesting mix of five spice with blackberries and mulberries and a floral undertone. There s a hint of fynbos and dry herbs, which is evidence of the presence of he Mourvèdre.The wine enters the palate with upfront bright red and black fruit. There is a fine textured mid palate where the herbal notes are evident and he wine finishes with a certain amount of freshness with a definite peppery grip. The tannins are fine textured but firm.
