Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines

The Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines is an exceptional white cuvée made from Delheim's oldest vineyard blocks in the Simonsberg, Stellenbosch. This Old Vine blend combines Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Muscat de Frontignan, Sauvignon Blanc and Colombar, whose vines were planted between 1984 and 1988 and, as part of the Certified Old Vine Project (OVP), have special expressiveness and terroir character.The vineyards are located on southwest-facing slopes with Oakleaf soils of decomposed granite. The cool climate of the Simonsberg, influenced by Atlantic breezes, ensures slow, even ripening and intense aromas.The grapes were hand-picked in the early hours of the morning and pressed whole to ensure maximum purity. Natural fermentation took place in French oak barrels (15% new wood), after which the wine matured for nine months on the fine lees, giving it depth, texture and complexity. The final cuvée was produced in a small, experimental batch that brings out the potential of old vines and terroir to the full.In the glass, the Delheim Iconoclast Versed Vines shows aromas of white peach and ripe pear, complemented by the delicate, floral Muscat perfume. On the palate, freshness is combined with elegance and a long, harmonious finish on a fresh citrus note.This white wine is ideal with meaty fish or subtly spiced dishes with chicken or pork. Serve at 8-10 °C to enjoy the fine fruit and elegant structure to the full.Only five barrels were produced - an exclusive wine for collectors and connoisseurs. Delheim Merlot

The Delheim Merlot grapes come from vines up to 20 years old from a vineyard called Peperboom Vineyard. The Peperboom, which means pepper tree or pepper bush, was originally planted here. The grapes were harvested in two stages in order to achieve the maximum concentration of tannins and color. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks using selected yeast strains. The temperature during the fermentation process was between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius. The juice was then stored on the skins for a further 18 days and then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels.Notes of tobacco, red fruits with cloves and cinnamon are clearly recognizable on the nose. The Delheim Merlot is an elegant wine with a subtle structure and silky tannins. Full-bodied on the palate with an unusual freshness reminiscent of blueberry and plum flavors.Ageing in the bottle for 3 to 4 years allows the wine to reach optimum maturity. Certainly a delight with roast chicken or mushroom soup.

Delheim Pinotage

The Delheim Pinotage has a deep ruby red colour. On the nose, the red wine offers aromas of black cherries, plums and red berries, wonderfully underpinned by nuances of dark chocolate and floral notes. The flavours of red and black berries are intense on the palate. The velvety tannins round off the flavour experience perfectly.The Delheim Pinotage from the outstanding Stellenbosch wine-growing region matured for 12 months in oak barrels, 21% of which were new barrels. A dry red wine made from hand-picked grapes, which you can enjoy immediately, but which will become even better within five years of the harvest.Enjoy this South African wine with meat dishes such as oxtail, beef stew and smoked chicken.

The Delheim winery has been creating its Pinotage Rosé for almost 40 years. The bouquet of the Delheim Pinotage Rosé offers wonderful notes of strawberry and orchard flowers. On the palate, the dry wine is a real taste sensation with its sweet fruitiness of pink grapefruit, berries and sweet cherries. Delheim Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Blackberry and plum aromas, backed by undertones of dark chocolate and vanilla. The wine is elegant and lingers on the palate.Fermentation with selected yeast strains. Temperature was maintained at 25-28°C. Pump-overs were conducted 4 times a day until fermented dry. The wine was matured for 13 months in French oak, and then bottled with a screw cap.

The desert-wine "Delheim Spatzendreck" is legendary. For more than 50 years there is this fine creation from South Africa. In the current vintage Delheim gave the product again a very special touch. Most of its predecessors, including the 2012 vintage, were Late Harvest wines made from 100% Chenin blanc grapes. Now it is a blend of Muscat d 'Frontignan, Weißer Riesling and Chenin Blanc. Der Delheim Vera Cruz Pinotage hat ein tiefes Pupurrot. In der Nase zeigen sich bei dem Rotwein Noten von reifen dunklen Früchten, integrierte Vanille- und Toffeenoten und ein Hauch von Gewürzen. Am Gaumen ist der Wein aus Südafrika saftig, voll und rund mit einem langen Abgang.Dieser Pinotage stammt von einer Einzellage mit unbewässerten bush-vines, also Reben ohne Drahtrahmenerziehung. Natürlicher Weingenuss par excellence. Die Trauben für den reinsortigen Pinotage aus Stellenbosch in Südafrika wurden akribisch gelesen; es wurden nur die besten Trauben bester Qualität geerntet. Die erste Sortierung wurde bereits in den Weinbergen vorgenommen. Der Delheim Vera Cruz Pinotage reifte für 18 Monate in 300L und 500L Fässern aus französischer Eiche, wobei zu 35% neue Fässer zum Einsatz kamen.
