Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

The Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019 is a powerful, elegant red wine from one of the world's most renowned wine regions. As the flagship of the Californian winery Silver Oak, this vintage impressively reflects the special signature of the house as well as the exceptional quality of the Napa Valley.

The Napa Valley, known for its variety of microclimates and soils, offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon. Silver Oak sources the grapes for this wine from carefully selected parcels in the valley, including its own vineyards. The 2019 vintage benefited from an even and long ripening process with mild weather - an almost ideal year for the grape harvest. The grapes were harvested precisely at the optimum time for ripening, which is reflected in the intense aromas and balance of the wine.

Silver Oak has stood for an unmistakable style since its foundation: the wine, consisting of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, as well as some Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, matures exclusively in American oak. It was then matured in the bottle for a further 15 months before being released for sale. The result is a wine of high concentration, remarkable depth and great ageing potential - at least 20 years of ageing is considered realistic for this vintage. The careful vinification and craftsmanship are reflected in the flawless structure and elegance of the wine.

In the glass, the wine presents itself in a dark purple red with dense color intensity. The nose reveals complex aromas of blackcurrants, ripe cherries, blueberries and mocha, underpinned by fine roasted notes, vanilla, tobacco, nutmeg and a hint of liquorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and polished, with silky, finely integrated tannins, lively acidity and a long, harmonious finish. The structure is powerful without being overloaded - a prime example of the balance between fruit, wood and elegance that makes Silver Oak so desirable.

The Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019 is an impressive, characterful wine with depth, elegance and excellent maturity. It combines the power of Napa Valley with the refined style of Silver Oak - a wine for special occasions that will delight today as well as decades from now. Ideal with beef, lamb, game or as a meditative soloist in a glass.

Silver Oak, a traditional winery with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon, is bringing a wine to the market with this vintage that will impress connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike. The Alexander Valley is considered one of the best regions for Cabernet Sauvignon in California. The combination of a warm climate, cool night-time temperatures and well-drained soils creates ideal conditions for a long ripening period for the grapes. The 2019 vintage benefited from balanced vegetation, with mild weather during the harvest period, which allowed for particularly balanced fruit development. In the glass, the Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose reveals complex aromas of dark berries - particularly raspberry, blackberry and black cherry - accompanied by notes of vanilla, iris, cloves, cedar, roasted coffee and fine oak. On the palate, the wine is powerful and structured, with well-integrated tannins, lively acidity and a long, elegant finish. Maturation in American oak (one of the hallmarks of Silver Oak) lends it additional spice and longevity.Silver Oak stands for consistent quality and a clear style. Pym Rae Napa Valley 2018
The winery was founded by the brilliant actor Robin Williams, who named it after the middle names of his children Pym and Rae. In 2016, the Bordelais-based Tesseron family bought this vineyard in Napa Valley, located on Mount Veeder, which only covers around 8 hectares. Alfred Tesseron, one of the grand seigneurs in Bordeaux, had already taken Château Pontet-Canet in Pauillac to unimagined heights by being the first producer in Bordeaux to introduce biodynamics and resolutely and rigidly adhering to the principle of "back to nature". This was done in his very individual way, always striving for the very highest quality. You can expect nothing less from PYM-RAE. In 2016, purely organic work was immediately introduced here too and the son of the technical director of Pontet-Canet, Thomas Comme, is in charge. The consultant is star oenologist Michel Rolland, himself now a legend. "Manual work" is the motto at PYM-RAE; the vines are on average 29 years old and the grapes and must are treated with exceptional care in the cellar. No pumps are used and extraction is very gentle, not least because of the extremely small vats.PYM-RAE is composed of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc and thus corresponds to a classic Bordeaux cuvée. Hand-picked and matured for 16 months in 70% new French oak barrels and 30% in small concrete tanks, PYM-RAE is given the finishing touches. The result is a stunning grape juice of majestic proportions, of which unfortunately only a few bottles find their way to Europe. The wine is characterized by a great deal of fruit, elegance and silky tannins, with incredible depth and opulence. In addition to the plum, blackberry and blueberry aromas, paired with cassis, there are also notes of violets, chocolate, cigar box, mint, cocoa and olives. This "American Beauty" with French roots is best enjoyed solo over the next 40 years, or with a good steak or game board. Very curious wine lovers should decant it for about 1 1/2 hours beforehand. Incidentally, "solo" does not mean that you can't share the wine with good friends!

Stag’s Leap FAY Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Most of the grapes for the FAY Cabernet Sauvignon come from the middle and lower plots of the Fay vineyard, where they develop the characteristic red fruit aromas particularly beautifully and intensively. Only a small portion of just under 10% comes from the rows of vines planted to the east, which give the blend a little more power and fullness. All the grapes are vinified separately by parcel, only now are they blended into the FAY blend and left to mature for 18 months in French oak barrels (80% new, 20% single-oak) to develop the unique balance of juicy fruit, power and elegance that characterizes the FAY Cabernet Sauvignon so unmistakably. The Stag's Leap FAY Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep ruby to plum red color. The American red wine delights with its classic FAY bouquet with dense, juicy, fruity aromas of sweet cherries, plums and blackcurrants, elegantly underpinned with finely spiced oak notes, hints of sandalwood, licorice, flowers and forest floor (moss, undergrowth). On the palate, this first-class Cabernet Sauvignon is powerful, juicy, fruity (sweet ripe cherries, plums), with gentle notes of caramel and spices that subtly emphasize the fruity character of the wine. Firmly structured yet gentle, with an elegant balance of silky tannins and fresh, natural acidity - accessible at an early stage thanks to the dominant fruit, yet with promising ageing and maturation potential. This dry red wine is an excellent accompaniment to pink roast duck breast with cherry sauce, stuffed pigeon with black olives, roast lamb or leg of lamb with herbs and spicy mature cheeses.

Quintessa Napa Valley 2018

Quintessa Napa Valley 2019
The wines that Agustin and Valeria Huneeus have been producing since 1989 at their Quintessa winery in Rutherford, in the heart of Napa Valley, could actually be merciless competitors to Opus One, Napa's flagship. But Quintessa is taking a less publicized, quieter approach, so Quintessa still flies "under the radar" in terms of name recognition. Wine connoisseurs benefit from this, as the quality of this grape juice is "outstanding", but the price, compared to Opus One, is not yet.And the 2019 Quintessa has also once again become a wine trouvaille, which was remarkably rated 99/100 points by James Suckling and received the high score of 100/100 points from WineEnthusiast.91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot, 2% Carménère and 1% Petit Verdot make up the cuvée, which matured in 60% new French oak for 22 months. The nose shows an incredibly vibrant picture of the elements of flowers, forest, fruit and earth. Spices, walnut, black fruit, sweet cherry, cassis and wood complement each other to form a complex, extremely sensual whole, with silky tannins, good fat, great structure and an eternally lingering echo. This wine offers seemingly endless aromas to be discovered, but is not "cerebral" in the sense that it is incomprehensible. It is too seductive for that and it is all the more remarkable that it is already accessible and ready to drink now, but will probably remain so for another 30 years. An ideal gift for wine connoisseurs and those who simply appreciate outstanding grape juice at its finest.A mature achievement!
