Die Reben dieses Rotweins sind 40 bis 45 Jahre alt und stehen auf kalkhaltigen Böden auf einer Höhe zwischen 500 und 800 Metern. Der Barahonda Barrica Monastrell Syrah hat eine rubinrote Farbe, die hell und klar im Glas leuchtet. Die Nase offenbar ein intensives Bouquet nach gereiften Früchten, Gewürzen, leichte Vanillenoten und etwas Zedernholz. Am Gaumen dominiert eine kräftige Mineralität. Ein Wein voller Saft und Kraft mit Noten von Pfeffer und Nelken. Durch die Reifung in französischen und amerikanischen Eichenfässern für einen Zeitraum von etwa 6 Monaten ist der Abgang kräftig und rund mit einem Geschmack nach Vanille und etwas Leder.

Wenn es eine Region gibt, die im Besonderen für die Rebsorte Monastrell steht, ist es die Region Jumilla in südöstlichen Spanien, westlich von Alicante und nördlich von Murcia. Auf etwa 900 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel stehen hier die Reben für den Rotwein Creencia con Actitud, etwa wörtlich übersetzt „Glaube mit Haltung“. Der 100% Monastrell spiegelt wunderbar authentisch den Charakter dieser Region und des Terriors wider. Die Reben kommen ohne künstliche Bewässerung aus, was hochwertige Trauben hervorbringt, aber die Menge geringhält. Dieses liegt unter anderem auch an dem Alter der Reben, die bereits seit mehr als 45 Jahren ihren Dienst tun.Dazu gesellen sich Noten von gerösteten Mandeln, getoastetem Brot und ein Hauch Zigarrenkiste. Der El Ego Bodegas Goru DOP duftet intensiv nach reifen roten Früchten. Noten von Pflaumenkompott und Blaubeermuffins sowie feine Nuancen von Nussschokolade und dezentes Süßholz prägen das Bouquet.
