Production area: Selected vineyards of Neviera and Casa Rossa, located in San Marzano district. The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore

The Maremma is a characterful landscape in central Italy, which is also known for its excellent wines. Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore from Tenuta Argentiera has a bright ruby red color with violet hues. On the palate, notes of licorice and black currants. This generous, complex wine - consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc - is rich in tannins. It has a wonderful balance with a pleasant acidity. The finish is long lasting - with a remarkable freshness and minerality.The harvested grapes come from the best vineyards of the estate. The grapes were vinified separately; fermentation and maceration took about 25 to 30 days in stainless steel tanks. This wine from Tuscany is a lovely crimson in colour, clear and consistent. On the nose, it is full and intense, offering fine, elegant fragrances, fruity notes of dark plums and black currants, flavoured with vanilla, pink pepper and cinnamon, complemented by hints of coffee, chocolate and balsamic nuances.The Gabbiano Alleanza IGT is intense, rich, complex, chewable and full-bodied, with wonderfully soft and tempting tannins. It has a remarkably pleasant taste, showing a good length.The wine goes beautifully with stewed meat, red meat with full, hearty sauces, game and various aged cheeses.This wine is made from grapes coming from the estate’s best vineyards, which were renewed some years ago. During the alcoholic fermentation, various methods are deployed which are intended to lead to optimal, natural extraction, prolonging the maceration on the grape skins. The malolactic fermentation is carried out in French holm oak barriques: during this long process manual batonnage (stirring of the lees in the barrel) is effected.When the process is completed, the wine is stored in the estate’s cellar and is aged in first- and second-fill barrels for a period of at least 16 to 18 months, and is further refined while aging for another 6 months in the bottle.Allenaza I.G.T.
