Dieser kunstvolle Rotwein aus Argentinien ist eine schöne Entdeckung. Der reinsortige Merlot Finca Las Moras DADA No.2 präsentiert sich als Anspielung auf den Dadaismus, der Bewegung, die sich ganz bewusst von der konventionellen Kunst abheben wollte. Nichtsdestotrotz: Chief-Winemaker Eduardo Casademont reiht sich ein in die Reihe der Vertreterinnen und Vertreter hoher argentinischer Weinbaukunst.

Das Bouquet dieses Rotweins aus dem Pedernal-Tal (in der Provinz San Juan, an der Grenze zu Mendoza) ist wunderbar vielschichtig. Noten von Kirschen, Brombeeren, Cassis, Mokka und Kakao sowie von Pfeffer, Süßholz und Veilchen ergeben im Zusammenspiel ein Fest für die Sinne.

Am Gaumen ist dieser Merlot aus Argentinien saftig, sehr samtig und dicht. Der Rotwein besitzt eine tolle Harmonie und eine bemerkenswerte Länge. Auch am Gaumen ist die intensive Fruchtigkeit merklich. Das Finale wird auch geprägt durch Nuancen von Veilchen und Jasmin. 

Die Höhenlagen im Pedernal-Tal bringen große Unterschiede zwischen Tages- und Nachttemperaturen mit sich und damit die ausgeprägtesten Temperaturschwankungen in Argentinien. Der Weinbau wird bis in eine Höhe von etwa 1.300 Metern betrieben. Das Resultat sind Trauben mit großer Aromenkonzentration und außerordentlicher Frische. Zum besonderen Geschmackserlebnis trägt auch der Ausbau des Finca Las Moras DADA No.2 in stark gerösteter französischer und amerikanischer Eiche bei.

Winemaker Eduardo Casademont hat sich ganz dem Motto des Dadaimus verschrieben die konventionellen Werte mal auszublenden und etwas Neues zu schaffen. Der für Argentinien eher ungewöhnliche halbtrockene Wein aus den Rebsorten Malbec und Bonarda hat Charme und begeistert durch seine Zugänglichkeit von Anfang an. Die Fülle und das Volumen des Weins zeigen sich schon in einer ausdrucksstarken dunklen purpurroten Farbe. In der Nase ist eine tolle saftige Frucht festzustellen. Diese wird ergänzt durch Noten von Gewürzen, süßer Schokolade und Amarena Kirschen.Die Trauben für den Finca Las Moras DADA No. 1 stammen aus dem Pedernal-Tal, welches für seine hohen Temperaturschwankungen bekannt ist. Dadurch erreicht der Wein seine dichte Struktur und Würzigkeit. Am Gaumen verwöhnt er mit feiner ausgewogener Säure und gut integrierten Tanninen, die präsent aber nicht aufdringlich sind. Der Ausbau in amerikanischer Eiche macht den Wein harmonisch und hervorragend ausbalanciert.

Der Finca las Moras Los Intocables  Black ist in jeder Hinsicht außergewöhnlich. Schon die Namensgebung lässt vermuten, dass hier etwas Neues, Innovatives auf den Weingenießer zukommt. Der Name ist angelehnt an die FBI Agenten aus den 1930er Jahren, die gegen den Alkoholhandel Al Capones kämpften, bekannt als die „Unbestechlichen“. Ungewöhnlich ist auf jeden Fall die 12-monatige Reifung des Weins in gebrauchten Eichenfässern, in denen vorher berühmte amerikanische Bourbon-Whiskeys lagerten. Das Resultat ist ein unheimlich runder, feingliedriger Wein.Die Trauben, zu 100% Malbec, stammen aus speziell ausgesuchten Weinbergslagen, die vornehmlich sandige, mit Lehm durchsetzte Böden aufweisen. Ein geringer Traubenertrag und die Reifung in den Whiskey Fässern geben dem Los Intocables Black Malbec eine sehr dunkle, fast schwarze Farbe. Der Wein hat einen vollen Körper und sorgt am Gaumen für vielschichtige Eindrücke. Es finden sich sowohl Noten von Blaubeere und Pflaume als auch Aromen von Schokolade, Karamell und Vanille. Der Wein hinterlässt ein weiches, intensives Geschmackserlebnis mit dezenter Süße.

This Barrel Selection wine from the Bodegas Salentein estate, located in the Uco Valley at the foot of the Andes in Argentina, is a pure varietal Merlot. Winemaker José Galante, a former professor of oenology at the University of Maza, is one of Argentina’s most renowned and successful oenologists. With this wine, he created a wonderfully fruity, full-bodied Merlot distinguished by its intensity as well as its subtle nuances. This is due particularly to the hot temperatures prevailing in the Uco Valley during the day, accompanied by cool nights, ensuring optimal ripening of the grapes. The Barrel Selection Merlot is a deep red with blue glints in the glass. On the nose, it offers lots of fruit and is redolent of ripe quinces, wild berries and spices, along with nuances of tobacco and vanilla that result from the ageing in French oak casks. On the palate, the wine is extremely full-bodied and soft, showing a superb structure with ripe, very fine tannins and a long, charming finish. This Barrel Selection Merlot not only shows an immense, fruity fullness but is also rich in substance and concentration, giving it much more character than its competitors. This wine is always the right choice for those who prefer typical and thus not merely fruity Merlot wines. In this respect, the Salentein Barrel Selection Merlot is exactly what Bodegas Salentein wants to achieve: to produce a wine that wonderfully reflects the marvellous terroir of its vineyards located in Mendoza. This Merlot is lovely to enjoy on its own. It also goes beautifully with ripe hard cheeses, dishes with beef and other red meat, and anything grilled.
