Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Chardonnay 2024

With its pale golden color and intense and complex aromas of white peach and honeysuckle, the Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Chardonnay impresses. There are also hints of savory bacon and rounding oak notes.Taste: A wonderfully full-bodied and rich white wine with complex stone fruit aromas and a hint of spice. Underlying savory oak notes and subtle yeasty characters add to the complexity. On the palate, it is elegant and full with firm acidity and a long finish.Aging potential:Perfect for immediate enjoyment. This Chardonnay can age wonderfully with careful storage in the bottle and is still perfectly drinkable four years after bottling.Winemaking: The grapes were carefully hand-picked and pressed whole to ensure that all the defining terroir characteristics and fruit flavors were retained. The wine was fermented in 100 percent American oak (50 percent in new oak barrels, 25 percent in second-fill barrels and 25 percent in third-fill barrels). Selected yeast strains were used for fermentation. The wine then underwent malolactic fermentation and matured on the lees for ten months with regular pumping over. Only the best barrels from each batch were selected to make the final blend.Perfect with salmon, strong cream sauces or roast chicken.

Saint Clair Family Estate was founded by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, viticulture pioneers in Marlborough since 1978.This Chardonnay was harvested at optimum ripeness from vineyards across the Marlborough region. A delicious, fruit-driven wine, it has ripe peach and grapefruit flavours complemented by haselnuts and spice with a lingering finish on the palate.A perfect match with seafood with cream-based sauces or mild Thai coconut curries. The Saint Clair Pioneer Block 2 Swamp Block is a Sauvignon Blanc with a strong character from the renowned wine region of Marlborough, New Zealand. The "Pioneer Block" series stands for single-vineyard wines with a unique terroir expression. The Swamp Block, named after the former wetlands of the region, produces particularly aromatic and concentrated grapes that give this wine its extraordinary intensity.The vines grow on deep, cool soils, which ensure slow ripening and intensify the fruit aromas. After selective hand-picking, the grapes are gently pressed and the must fermented cold to preserve the fresh aromas. The wine is matured in stainless steel tanks, allowing it to retain its lively fruit and pronounced minerality.The Saint Clair Pioneer Block 2 Swamp Block is light gold in color with green reflections. The nose is dominated by intense aromas of tropical fruits such as passion fruit, passion fruit and ripe pineapple, complemented by notes of fresh garden herbs. On the palate, it is powerful and complex with a crisp acidity and a fine, mineral structure. The finish is long and refreshing, with lingering citrus and gooseberry flavors.This Sauvignon Blanc is an ideal accompaniment to fish and seafood, especially oysters, ceviche or grilled salmon.

Offiziell benannt nach der Lage in der O'Dwyers Road, enthält der Name „Oh! Block“ auch eine heitere Anspielung auf die ersten Reaktionen der Weintrinker beim Genuss dieses aromatisch vollen Weines: „Oh my goodness what amazing flavours!“.Die Trauben des reinsortigen Sauvignon Blanc stammen aus einem einzigen Weinberg gelegen an der O'Dwyers Road im unteren Rapaura-Gebiet nördlich vom neuseeländischen Blenheim. Dieser Standort hat fruchtbare, tiefgründige Schlickböden. Nach der Ernte wird der Saft sofort abgepresst, sodass der Kontakt mit der Schale gering bleibt. Die Gärung findet mit einer Vielzahl ausgewählter Hefen in Edelstahltanks bei kühlen Temperaturen statt, um Fruchtaroma und Frische zu bewahren.Der Saint Clair Pioneer Block 6 "Oh Block" zeigt sich im Glas in einem blassen Grün. Der Weißwein erreicht die Nase mit einem spektakulären Duft nach intensiven konzentrierten Aromen von Lindenblättern und zerstoßenem Thymian mit krautigen grünen Noten. Am Gaumen dominieren Passionsfrucht- und Grapefruitaromen. Der Abgang ist lang und anhaltend.
