Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

The Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is the flagship of the renowned Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) and one of the most important wines of the Napa Valley. Since 1936, this iconic Cabernet Sauvignon has set the standard for elegance, power and longevity. The grapes for this exceptional wine come from the best parcels of BV Ranch No. 1 and No. 2 in the Rutherford area, where deep, volcanic soils with a high tuff and clay content ensure an incomparable concentration of aromas and structure.

2019 was a near-perfect vintage in Napa Valley with a balanced climate. After a cool and wet spring, a long, dry summer ensured that the grapes ripened slowly and evenly, allowing for an exceptional balance between fruit, acidity and tannin.

In the glass, the Georges de Latour Private Reserve 2019 has a deep purple color with violet reflections. On the nose, it develops an intense bouquet of blackcurrant, stewed grapes, black cherry, orange peel and black plum, alongside spicy, perfumed notes of wild violet, rose petals, fresh spearmint, bay leaf and earth.

Warm baking spice notes from the French oak barrel influence add vanilla, caramel and allspice. Saturated dark fruits are present and voluminous throughout the palate, displaying a mouth-coating structure with density and enveloping richness. Full-bodied and multi-layered, secondary notes of bittersweet dark chocolate, spicy umami, leather, tobacco leaf and graphite lend additional nuance and complexity. The long, multi-layered finish is accompanied by nuances of espresso, spices and subtle roasted aromas.

An exceptional Napa Cabernet with great ageing potential that can be enjoyed young, but will gain finesse and complexity over the next 20 to 30 years.

The Georges de Latour Private Reserve 2019 is ideal with fine meat dishes such as dry-aged steaks, rack of lamb or mature hard cheese. But of course it is also a real treat on its own.

Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is the flagship of the renowned Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) winery in Napa Valley and is one of the most important wines in California. Since the first bottling in 1936, this iconic Cabernet Sauvignon has stood for the highest quality and timeless elegance. The grapes come from the best plots on the historic Rutherford estate, where the deep, volcanic ash soils provide outstanding structure and depth. The 2021 vintage is characterized by exceptional concentration and balance, shaped by a warm, dry climate with ideal conditions for slow, even ripening of the grapes. After selective manual harvesting, the must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to ensure precise extraction of color, aromas and tannins. The wine then matures for around 22 months in French oak barrels (a high proportion of which are new wood), which gives it additional depth, complexity and fine spice. In the glass, the Georges de Latour Private Reserve 2021 is a deep ruby red. The bouquet is intense with fragrant notes of wild sage, blackcurrant, cedar and fresh mint. The palate is expansive and full-bodied with a lush mouthfeel that shows layers of ripe blackberries, redcurrants and red rose petals alongside earthier tones of graphite, licorice root, gravel stone and dark chocolate. Subtle baking spices from ageing in French oak barrels add notes of sandalwood, cloves and Ceylon cinnamon.A wine with great ageing potential that can be enjoyed young with decanted maturity, but will continue to gain in elegance and finesse over the coming decades.Wine Spectator evaluated almost 10,500 wines in 2024 and voted the 2021 Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon in 2nd place in the best rankings.

Quintessa Napa Valley 2019
The wines that Agustin and Valeria Huneeus have been producing since 1989 at their Quintessa winery in Rutherford, in the heart of Napa Valley, could actually be merciless competitors to Opus One, Napa's flagship. But Quintessa is taking a less publicized, quieter approach, so Quintessa still flies "under the radar" in terms of name recognition. Wine connoisseurs benefit from this, as the quality of this grape juice is "outstanding", but the price, compared to Opus One, is not yet.And the 2019 Quintessa has also once again become a wine trouvaille, which was remarkably rated 99/100 points by James Suckling and received the high score of 100/100 points from WineEnthusiast.91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot, 2% Carménère and 1% Petit Verdot make up the cuvée, which matured in 60% new French oak for 22 months. The nose shows an incredibly vibrant picture of the elements of flowers, forest, fruit and earth. Spices, walnut, black fruit, sweet cherry, cassis and wood complement each other to form a complex, extremely sensual whole, with silky tannins, good fat, great structure and an eternally lingering echo. This wine offers seemingly endless aromas to be discovered, but is not "cerebral" in the sense that it is incomprehensible. It is too seductive for that and it is all the more remarkable that it is already accessible and ready to drink now, but will probably remain so for another 30 years. An ideal gift for wine connoisseurs and those who simply appreciate outstanding grape juice at its finest.A mature achievement!

Stag’s Leap FAY Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Most of the grapes for the FAY Cabernet Sauvignon come from the middle and lower plots of the Fay vineyard, where they develop the characteristic red fruit aromas particularly beautifully and intensively. Only a small portion of just under 10% comes from the rows of vines planted to the east, which give the blend a little more power and fullness. All the grapes are vinified separately by parcel, only now are they blended into the FAY blend and left to mature for 18 months in French oak barrels (80% new, 20% single-oak) to develop the unique balance of juicy fruit, power and elegance that characterizes the FAY Cabernet Sauvignon so unmistakably. The Stag's Leap FAY Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep ruby to plum red color. The American red wine delights with its classic FAY bouquet with dense, juicy, fruity aromas of sweet cherries, plums and blackcurrants, elegantly underpinned with finely spiced oak notes, hints of sandalwood, licorice, flowers and forest floor (moss, undergrowth). On the palate, this first-class Cabernet Sauvignon is powerful, juicy, fruity (sweet ripe cherries, plums), with gentle notes of caramel and spices that subtly emphasize the fruity character of the wine. Firmly structured yet gentle, with an elegant balance of silky tannins and fresh, natural acidity - accessible at an early stage thanks to the dominant fruit, yet with promising ageing and maturation potential. This dry red wine is an excellent accompaniment to pink roast duck breast with cherry sauce, stuffed pigeon with black olives, roast lamb or leg of lamb with herbs and spicy mature cheeses.
