The Decoy California Zinfandel is an expressive and multi-layered wine from the renowned Duckhorn portfolio, which has stood for the highest quality and craftsmanship for over 30 years. It reflects the fascination and power of this typical Californian grape variety and combines intensity with elegance.

The cuvée consists of 86% Zinfandel, 12% Petite Sirah and 2% Carignane. On the nose, the wine develops seductive aromas of boysenberry, black cherry, mocha and cinnamon. On the palate, it is generous and opulent, with juicy notes of stewed berries and ripe plums carried by rich, supple tannins. Undertones of oak spice add depth and complexity, while the finish is powerful and persistent.

The wine gets its structure and balance from ageing for 11 months in French oak, using 40% new and 60% neutral barrels. This maturation harmoniously rounds off the fruity aromas without masking the fresh, lively nature of the wine.

The Decoy Zinfandel is a wine full of energy and expressiveness that is ideal with grilled meat, hearty pasta dishes or spicy cheese. A Californian with a strong character that reflects the full diversity of this traditional grape variety.

With deep roots in the Californian wine world, Decoy today stands for wines of the highest quality that combine the elegance of the grape varieties and the diversity of outstanding sites.The cuvée consists of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and expresses the classic finesse of the grape variety. On the nose, the wine develops opulent aromas of black cherry, ripe boysenberry and sweet baking spices, accompanied by subtle nuances of leather, black olives and cardamom. It is balanced and supple on the palate, with juicy fruit expression, silky tannins and subtle spice. The finish is long, characterized by dark cherry and fine spicy notes.The wine owes its special depth to careful ageing: 12 months in French oak, 40% of which is in new barrels and 60% in neutral barrels. This wine from the Rombauer vineyards is a wonderful example of the quality that can be achieved with a Californian Zinfandel. The deep purple blend, consisting of Zinfandel and a very small percentage of Petite Sirah, has an enticing nose offering intense notes of blackberries, boysenberries, plums and cherries. Its exceptionally multi-layered bouquet is rounded off by subtle hints of vanilla and liquorice and spicy aromas as well. On the palate, the Rombauer Zinfandel is velvety and fresh, with fine tannins and a great length.The Zinfandel matured for 14 months in American and French oak casks, of which 10% were new American barrels. The grapes come from vines which grow in the Californian counties of El Dorado, Amador, Lake and Napa, uniting in wonderful interaction. You’ll enjoy discovering this Zinfandel with T-bone steaks, lamb, a Wagyu burger, spare ribs or filet mignon. It is also a perfect accompaniment to ripe cheeses and stews.

It is therefore all the more important to preserve the original character of this grape. The Pr1mo Numero Uno Primitivo Salento does this very well. Deliberately with a little less residual sweetness and very structured on the palate, this dry wine from Italy is full-bodied but at the same time has a smoothness that is second to none. In a long process with the cellar master and owner Gaetano Marangelli from Cantine Menhir, we have brought the typical Apulian native form of a Primitivo into the bottle.The color is an intense dark red and shows all the power of the sun that was able to flow into the grapes of the Pr1mo. The nose has wonderful aromas of cherry jam, ripe plums and wild berries. Maturing in wooden barrels gives the wine an additional hint of vanilla. Fruit and fullness dominate the palate.
