Pagos del Rey Pulpo Godello Monterrei DO

Pulpo Godello comes from the Monterrei D.O. in the province of Orense in southern Galicia. The vines, which are over 25 years old, grow on the slopes of the Monterrei Valley on schist, granite, and clay soils. The continental microclimate, influenced by the Atlantic, creates ideal conditions for a Godello that harmoniously combines freshness, elegance, and terroir.

The vines are cultivated with great care and harvested by hand. Thanks to their north-south orientation, they benefit from optimal sunlight, allowing the grapes to ripen perfectly while retaining their characteristic acidity. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks to best preserve the natural aromas and vibrancy of the grape variety.

On the nose, the wine unfolds an expressive bouquet of floral notes, citrus fruits, and stone fruits such as peach and apricot, underpinned by a subtle mineral nuance. On the palate, it is balanced and enveloping, with a silky attack, lively acidity, and a long, complex finish in which mineral and citrus notes linger pleasantly.

This Godello pairs excellently with seafood, fish, rice dishes, white meat, and Asian cuisine. Thanks to its freshness and elegance, it is also an ideal stand-alone wine for special occasions.
