Corimbo

CORIMBO, 100% “Tinta del País”, (the local term for tempranillo), the result of sustainably grown gobelet vines from the area around La Horra and Roa (Burgos), with an ageing time of 12 months in French and American oak barrels.

The colour is very deep red on a cherry coloured background, with bluish red-cherry hints around the rim.

The aroma is very expressive and intense with a fruit character over a touch of oak. On the nose, black and red fruit (for example, cherry and blackberry), a sensation of freshness, hints of aromatic herbs and plants, earthiness, cocoa, and a final summer pine warmth. On the palate, it is full, well-structured, with abundant fruit and freshness.

In short, a most enjoyable Ribera del Duero with personality and class.

Bodegas RODA has diversified into Ribera del Duero. After twenty years’ experience in D.O.Ca Rioja, RODA wanted to apply its knowledge and experience to a diversification into D.O. Ribera del Duero, creating Bodegas LA HORRA. El Coto Crianza DOC
The El Coto Crianza is an authentic representative of the Rioja tradition, a dry red wine with an intense ruby red color from the famous Tempranillo grape. The perfect combination of red berries and the fine vanilla nuances from the barrique ageing.Soft tannins and excellent structure. Long finish, accompanied by fresh fruit. Not too complex, very harmonious and soft. The grapes for El Coto Crianza DOC come from the chalky soils of Rioja Alavesa. After pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then matured for between 12 and 14 months in new 225-liter American barrique barrels before being bottled and aged in the bottle for at least another 6 months. It is an ideal accompaniment to tapas, lamb, grilled meat or spicy vegetable dishes.

Barón de Ley Reserva
Barón de Ley Reserva Is made from grapes coming from our own vineyards in Mendavia (Rioja Baja). The climate in this part of Rioja, with clear Mediterranean influence, provides excellent maturations which, combined with a low yield viticulture (5.000 kgrs/Ha. aproximately), result in modern Riojas with a “mediterranean soul”; wines with combine remarkable power with the elegance and harmony that have always been characteristic of the Rioja wines. The wine was aged for 20 months in new american oak casks, and afterwards 24 months in bottle until arriving to its ideal moment for enjoyment. This wine has not been submitted to filterings or artificial stabilizations, which might result in the appearance of natural sediments in the bottle. With an attractive red ruby coulour with medium-high intensity, in the nose it suprises for a powerful fruit remarkably blended with traces from its noble ageing: coconut and toffee, evolving into seductive nuances of spices and mediterranean bush. The attack is truly powerful and develops in the mouth a pleasant sensation of volume and onctuosity with drives us to a long finish, nervous and fresh due to its optimum acidity, and bringing back an aftertaste with red fruits and again mediterranean bushes.

Matsu El Picaro
The Matsu El Picaro comes from the Toro growing region in the northwest of Spain. A 100% Tempranillo, here called Tinta de Toro, vinified young wine. The grapes for this red wine are grown biodynamically.El Picaro translates as "the rogue". In the glass, the young wine from Bodega Matsu shines in an intense purple color. The nose is characterized by a penetrating aroma of black fruits such as blackberry and blueberry. Mineral notes are wonderfully fresh and complex, surrounded by a slight sweetness. The palate is also dominated by the fruit and fullness that comes from the ripe grapes. Despite its youthfulness, the wine is extremely full-bodied and powerful, which is due to the ageing in French oak barrels and the fact that aggressive filtering and clarification were deliberately avoided. The Matsu El Picaro is a vegan red wine and is extremely enjoyable on its own, but also pairs well with medium-weight dishes. Enjoy this dry red wine at a drinking temperature of 16-18 °C with classic Spanish dishes such as paella, tapas or mature cheese.

Roda DOC Reserva
An excellent vintage in Rioja and an outstanding Roda. The composition of 89% Tempranillo, a proportion of Graciano and Garnacha smells wonderfully of sweet cherries, black fruits and nuances of Mediterranean herbs. Added to this is the wonderfully integrated oak. The deep red Roda DOC Reserva is lush and full on the palate. Very fruity at the beginning, with enormous balance and finely polished tannins. The finish of this dry red wine is again characterized by great, fresh fruitiness. The grapes come from bush vines that are more than 30 years old, i.e. vines that have not undergone wire-frame training. The Spanish wine was matured for 14 months in barriques, with 40% new and 60% second-fill barrels being used. The wine then matured for 30 months in the bottle. "This wine has the profile to become a great seller," writes Luis Gutierrez in the Wine Advocate.Discover the Roda DOC Reserva with medium to strong stews with chicken or beef, for example.
