The Summertime Moscato White from the Spier winery in South Africa's Western Cape delights with an intense bouquet of sweet nutmeg, bergamot, kiwi and yellow citrus fruits. Light to medium-bodied on the palate, harmoniously fruity with a long-lasting, muscaty finish.

The wine is made from Hanepoot and Colombard grapes. The grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks, with fermentation stopped early to preserve the natural residual sugar. Before bottling, the wine matures on the fine lees, which gives it additional freshness and harmony.

Die Spier Wine Farm liegt in der weltberühmten Weinregion Stellenbosch in Südafrika, etwa 50 Kilometer von Kapstadt entfernt. Der Hof hat eine lange Geschichte, die zurückreicht bis ins Jahr 1692. Als einer der ältesten Höfe in der Region ist Spier für seine kapholländischen Giebelhäuser bekannt, eine besondere Form der Architektur. Auf den Ländereien des Weingutes Spier stehen gleich 21 gut erhaltene Häuser. Diese „Gables“ zeugen von den Einflüssen der Gründer aus dem mittelalterlichen Europa und sind eine wahre Attraktion in Südafrika.

Niel Joubert kaufte Spier 1965. Damals war es üblich, Wein für die größeren Genossenschaftskellereien, wie der Stellenbosch Farmers Winery und KWV, zu produzieren. 1971 begann er jedoch mit der Abfüllung seiner eigenen Weinmarken. 1993 ging der Hof in den Besitz von Dick Enthoven über. Unter seiner Führung begann eine umfangreiche Renovierung, um die historischen Gebäude der Farm zu erhalten. Die Wein-Produktion und ein breites Angebot an Freizeitaktivitäten sind heute das Kerngeschäft auf dem Hof. Spier ist in beiden Geschäftsfeldern für seine Nachhaltigkeitsinitiativen bekannt.

Spier Signature Chardonnay

The grapes for the Spier Signature Chardonnay from the Western Cape region of South Africa are harvested by hand early in the morning from February to March. After hand-picking, they are pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeast strains, with only the best tanks being used later. In addition, only a small proportion is aged in new French oak barrels, which gives the wine a beautiful structure and complexity. You can expect a fresh, fruity Chardonnay with light vanilla notes.The dry white wine is light straw yellow in the glass with greenish reflections. On the nose, there are notes of grapefruit, lime, yellow apple, banana, pear and a hint of vanilla. This chenin blanc is made from young vines of five years old, which are perfect for a delicious and refreshing dry wine, with lots of fruit. Only when the stakes get older, the wines get more concentration. By keeping the proceeds low, the wine gets a really nice solid and mineral character. The Bishops Leap Sauvignon Blanc is a lively, aromatic white wine from the world-famous wine region of Marlborough, New Zealand.Straw yellow in color with green reflections in the glass and particularly fruity on the nose. Crisp, fresh and aromatic on the palate - this New Zealand white wine presents the typical Marlborough aromas of gooseberry, stone fruit and nettle. The delicious acidity leads to a long, lingering finish. The juice was fermented cold in stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness and zest. The grapes for the Bishops Leap Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc come from various sites in Marlborough's Southern Valleys and were harvested at night, during the coldest part of the day, at optimum ripeness.
