With its intense aromas and structured elegance, the Raka Cabernet Sauvignon is a prime example of South African red wine from the Western Cape. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, carefully harvested by hand and matured for 12 to 14 months in French oak, this wine offers a profound taste experience - characterized by dark fruits, spicy nuances and balanced tannins.

A seductive bouquet of black cherry, plum and dark wild berries unfolds on the nose, complemented by subtle hints of tobacco and fresh mint. On the palate, the Raka Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied and powerful, with excellently integrated dark fruit, a fine spiciness from the oak and velvety yet noticeable tannins. The finish is long and elegant, with a hint of spice and freshness.

Hand-picking and careful sorting of the grapes form the basis for the high quality of this wine. The must was regularly pumped over the skins during the first five days of fermentation in order to extract the color, aroma and tannin structure in the best possible way. After completion of alcoholic fermentation and subsequent malolactic conversion, the wine matured for 12 to 14 months in 225-liter French oak barrels, giving it depth, complexity and ageing potential.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is an ideal accompaniment to braised beef dishes, lamb chops, game ragout or mature cheese. It also cuts an excellent figure with dark chocolate with a high cocoa content or a cigar.

The Raka Happiness Sparkling impresses with its light straw yellow color and lively, fresh aroma. This sparkling wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc and comes from the prestigious Klein River Valley wine-growing region in South Africa.On the nose, the wine reveals fresh citrus notes of grapefruit and kumquat, complemented by aromas of gooseberry and a hint of passion fruit. On the palate, it is tangy and lively with fruity lime notes and a crisp green apple finish.The grapes were harvested by hand and carefully sorted before processing. They were then placed directly into the press, where the must was left in contact with the skin for eight hours to intensify the aromas. After pressing, the juice was fermented with pure yeasts at around 16°C to ensure optimal fermentation. The wine matured after fermentation with increased yeast contact, giving it additional complexity. After natural clarification by gravity, the wine was filtered and carbonated at a pressure of 5.8 bar (at 20°C), bottled and labeled.The fresh and lively Raka Happiness Sparkling goes perfectly with light starters, seafood, sushi or as an aperitif. The grapes were all harvested by hand to ensure the highest quality.In the wine cellar, the grapes were carefully sorted and fermented with pure yeasts. Maceration lasted five days, during which the must was pumped over the skins 3-5 times a day and the cap was punched down to maximize depth of colour and aromatics. After alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation took place, followed by a short resting phase. The red wine then matured for 12 to 14 months in 225-liter French oak barrels before being blended, bottled and labeled.Raka Figurehead is an excellent accompaniment to hearty dishes such as roast beef, lamb and game, as well as mature hard cheeses and mushroom dishes.
