Der Wein wird aus der einzigartigen südafrikanischen Rebsorte Pinotage gewonnen, die durch die Kreuzung von Pinot Noir und Cinsault entstanden ist. Diemersfontein hat sich einen exzellenten Ruf für seine Pinotage-Weine erworben und ist besonders für seine Qualitätsprodukte bekannt. Dieser Pinotage definiert sich anders als seine Sortimentskollegen Diemersfontein Pinotage und Carpe Diem Reserve jung und erfrischend. Die Bezeichnung „The Prodigy“, übersetzt „das Wunderkind“ soll zum Ausdruck bringen, dass dieser Wein einen besonderen Anspruch an Jugendlichkeit und Lebendigkeit versprüht. Der The Prodigy Pinotage präsentiert Aromen von dunkelroten Früchten wie schwarze Kirschen und Brombeeren. Am Gaumen werden diese durch Noten von Pflaumen, Erdbeeren und Gewürzen umhüllt.

This blend is redolent of black currants, gooseberries and plums, complemented by a lovely spice (peppery notes) and roast aromas. The composition, consisting mainly of Shiraz (from the Stellenbosch and Paarl regions) and smaller percentages of Mourvedre (from the city of Darling) and Viognier (from the Stellenbosch False Bay), is very fruity and velvety on the palate, with ripe, well-integrated tannins and a long finish, characterised by notes of cherries and a subliminal spice.The Kleine Zalze Vineyard Shiraz-Mourvedre-Viognier matured for 14 months in used French oak casks. Der Protea Chenin Blanc schmeckt nach Wassermelone und lebhaft nach Birne.Der Wein stammt aus den Anbaugebieten Swartland und Voor-Paardeberg und zeigt in der Mitte breite, aber sanfte Hefenoten.
