Stellenbosch is probably the best-known wine region in South Africa.After the grapes were pressed, the skins were left in contact with the liquid for around 3 hours. Der Alvi´s Drift 221 Pinotage ist ein Rotwein aus der südafrikanischen Region Western Cape. Er besticht durch eine mittelintensive schwarze Kirschfarbe und einem jugendlichen violetten Rand im Glas. Dieser beliebte Pinotage mit konzentrierten und geschmeidigen Aromen von süßen Brombeeren und Maulbeeren, mit einem Hauch von süßen Gewürzen ist ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis. Der Alvi´s Drift 221 Pinotage ist ein mittelkräftiger, gut ausgewogener Wein und zeichnet sich durch eine feine Tanninstruktur und lebendige Säuren aus, die in einem anhaltenden fruchtigen Abgang gipfeln.Um die Komplexität des Weines zu erhöhen, stammen mindestens 30 % aus mit wilder Hefe vergorenem Pinotage, der bis zu 12 Monate in amerikanischen Eichenfässern gereift ist und überwiegend aus älteren Rebstöcken stammt. Der restliche Pinotage dieser Mischung wird in Edelstahltanks vergoren, was dem Wein Frische und Lebendigkeit verleiht.Genießen Sie den Alvi´s Drift 221 Pinotage zu Wildpastete, intensiv gewürzter Wurst, Hühnerleber oder gut gereiftem Cheddar oder Gouda-Käse.Warum 221?Der Gründer des Weinguts Albertus Viljoen van der Merwe, von seinen Freunden „Alvi“ genannt, war 1928 als 19-jähriger der 221. Spieler der für die Springboks - Südafrikas Rugby-Nationalmannschaft – als Spieler ausgewählt wurde. Er schaffte Historisches indem ihm der erste „Versuch“ (im englischen Try) gegen die damals schon übermächtige Mannschaft der All Blacks (neuseeländische Rugby-Nationalteam) gelang. Gegen die sogenannten „Unbesiegbaren“ war das natürlich etwas ganz besonders. Mit der 221-Reihe zollen das Weingut Alvi´s Drift dem Patriarchen Oupa Alvi und den siegreichen südafrikanischem Rugbyteam Springbok Tribut.

The Tagaro Cinquenoci Primitivo Puglia IGP is a red wine full of character from the southern Italian region of Apulia, produced by Masseria Tagaro. This wine is made from 30-year-old Primitivo vines that thrive on chalky, red soils in Salento.After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and first undergo cold maceration at 4-5°C for 48 hours. This is followed by fermentation with selected yeasts and a longer maceration period. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for six months in oak barrels and a further three months in the bottle.In the glass, the Cinquenoci has a deep red color with violet reflections. The bouquet is intense and persistent, characterized by notes of ripe plum jam and blackcurrant. On the palate, it is full-bodied and balanced, with the sweetness of ripe fruit perfectly intertwined with a rich tannin structure.This Primitivo harmonizes perfectly with hearty pasta dishes, stews and red meat-based main courses. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C to develop its full spectrum of aromas.
