The Cusumano Nero d'Avola IGT enchants your senses with its inimitable bouquet and violet to ruby red color. It invites you on a culinary excursion to the vineyards of south-eastern Sicily. The sumptuous combination of intense aromas of fresh juniper berries and fruit jam with a fine selection of spices makes this red wine a very special drop. The velvety and delicate texture rounds off the taste experience.

The Cusumano winery is one of the top wineries in Sicily and has also established itself internationally. Careful processing of the fine Nero d'Avola grape variety gives this red wine its distinctive character. To allow the red wine to develop its full aroma, enjoy it at a drinking temperature of between 16 and 18 °C.

Cusumano

Der Vater Francesco Cusumano hat den Betrieb vor vierzig Jahren gegründet. Er ist Winzer mit Leib und Seele. Er glaubte an den sizilianischen Wein und er war überzeugt, dass man in Sizilien Spitzenweine machen kann. An diesem Ziel arbeitete er. Die Grundidee von Cusumano ist der Cru-Gedanke: für jede Rebsorte gibt es einen optimalen Standort. Cusumano ging also von der Vielfalt und von der Verschiedenartigkeit Siziliens aus. Er suchte in Sizilien nach den Regionen, die für unterschiedliche Rebsorten die besten Voraussetzungen bieten. Dort kaufte er Weinberge.

Das Gut hat eigene Weinberge in herausragenden Lagen bei Partinico, Monreale, Piana degli Albanesi, Alcamo, Salemi, Butera und Pachino. In den 90er Jahren traten die Söhne Alberto und Diego in den Betrieb ein. Die Entwicklung beschleunigte sich. Cusumano stattete seine Kellerei so aus, dass sie alle Wünsche an moderne Technik erfüllte: Gärtanks aus Stahl mit Temperaturkontrolle, Barriques aus französischer Eiche, klimatisierte Lagerkeller. Die Weine von Cusumano gehören zum Besten, was in Sizilien erzeugt wird. Sie haben viel Persönlichkeit und tragen eine eigene Handschrift. Sie haben eine unglaubliche Fülle von attraktiven, betörenden Fruchttönen und sie haben den Schmelz des Südens.

This wonderful Nero d’Avola from the wine-growing region of Sambuca di Sicilia is an intense ruby-red in the glass. The very first impression of the bouquet promises an exceptional taste experience. The wine is very intense on the palate, offering notes of ripe plums and blossom extracts.The Vigneti Zabu Chiantari Nero d’Avola is balanced and warm on the palate, with fine, well-structured tannins, giving the wine elegance and length. Its finish is characterised by light wood aromas and notes of herbs, along with a fine spice. Initially, the destemmed grapes were cooled, and the subsequent maceration lasted about 10-12 days.Subsequently, the wine was fermented in cement tanks and underwent a second malolactic fermentation in wooden casks. Afterwards, the wine was aged in French oak casks for at least 6 months. The Vigneti Zabu Chiantari Nero d’Avola is an ideal accompaniment to red meat or game, particularly wildfowl.
