With the Fosso Corno Mayro, the Fosso Corno winery once again demonstrates its mastery in processing the Montepulciano grape. Warm and full-bodied, this wine will win over all connoisseurs with a preference for wines with a strong character.

The Montepulciano grapes for the Fosso Corno Mayro from the Fosso Corno winery of the same name must first mature in stainless steel tanks, then in oak barrels for 6 to 8 months. The wine is then aged in the bottle for up to 3 months.
Despite its youth, this specialty from Abruzzo has an impenetrable, very dark color in the glass. This harmonizes with the ripe aroma of plums, cherries and liquorice that is typical of this grape variety. On the palate, the wine is also typical of Montepulciano, with a strong body and a round, warm mouthfeel. The finish is long and pleasant.

Das Weingut Fosso Corno in der italienischen Provinz Teramo in der Region Abruzzen besitzt eine außergewöhnliche Lage. Nach Osten bietet sich ein traumhafter Meeresblick auf die Adria, auf der West-Seite erhebt sich das imposante Gebirgsmassiv „Gran Sasso“.

Das Weingut Fosso Corno baut vorwiegend Montepulciano-Trauben auf einer Fläche von 30 ha auf einem Hügel in der Gemeinde Roseto Degli Abruzzi an.

Das stetig wachsende Interesse an Montepulciano-Weinen veranlasste die Familie Biscardo 2001, dieses Weingut zu erwerben. Schon im darauf folgenden Jahr wurden die alten Weinstöcke entfernt und durch neue Montepulciano-Weinstöcke im Spalieranbau mit einer Dichte von 4500 Weinstöcken pro Hektar ersetzt. Fosso Corno will sich in Zukunft als Protagonist des typischen Weines dieser Region, des Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, durchsetzen. Sehr gute Produkte liefert Fosso Gorno aber auch mit Cuvees, bei denen Merlot, Savignon Blanc und Chardonnay Weine dazu kommen.
