Intense notes of black fruit and violets dominate the bouquet of Paul Mas Vignes de Nicole Cabernet-Syrah. There are also aromas of wood, green pepper and hints of toasted bread and spices. This red wine of the traditional Domaines Paul Mas in Southern France is wonderfully balanced on the palate, with good structure and supple tannins.

This Vin de Pays d'Oc comes from 15 year old vines and is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. 50% of the assemblage matured for more than eight months in new oak barrels.

Enjoy this fine red wine of Domaines Paul Mas with its long finish with hints of licorice.

Die Domaines Paul Mas haben eine lange Geschichte und die Anfänge des weltberühmten Familienunternehmens gehen auf das Jahr 1892 zurück. Seinerzeit begann Augustus Mas die ersten Weinberge der Familie zu bewirtschaften. Die Anfänge waren natürlich bescheiden mit den ersten 9 Hektar Rebfläche in der Nähe von St Pons de Mauchiens in der Region Süd-West in Frankreich. Der erste große Entwicklungsschub begann 1987, als Paul Mas die Rebflächen enorm erweiterte und zukunftsträchtige Rebsorten wie Cabernet, Syrah, Merlot und Viognier anbaute. Heute bewirtschaftet das Unternehmen mehr als 600 Hektar Rebfläche (davon 92 Hektar biologischer Anbau), hat allein im Jahr 2015 genau 40 Gold-Medaillen für seine Produkte erhalten und exportiert in 58 Länder weltweit. Elf Bereiche gehören zum Unternehmen. Am bekanntesten sind Château Paul Mas, Château Astruc Teramas, Schloss Cres Ricards, Mas des Tannes, Schloss Martinolles und Field of Ferrandière.

Seit 1999 wird das Languedoc Unternehmen von Jean-Claude Mas geführt. Dessen Begeisterung für den Weinbau soll sich bereits als Dreijähriger während der Weinlese gezeigt haben, als er stetig seiner Mutter entwischte um Großvater Raymond und Vater Paul bei der Arbeit zu beobachten. Nach Studium, eigener kleiner Biowein-Firma und einer Anstellung in der Französischen Handelsmission in Miami, wo er sich um die Werbung für französischen Wein kümmerte, kehrte er in den Neunzigern nach Frankreich zurück. Nach der Beschäftigung als Verkaufsdirektor bei Domaines Virginie übernahm er die Leitung und die Weinbereitung auf den Familiengütern der Domaines Paul Mas, welches er stetig mit seinem enormen Fachwissen vorantreibt.

The Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon blend is complemented somewhat by the Cabernet Franc grape variety. The Cabernet Franc gives the red wine its light spiciness. The grapes for Cantina Tramin's Rungg all come from vineyards located to the south of the village of Tramin. The vines grow on hilly terrain at an altitude of around 300 meters. The soils have a gravelly subsoil, the soil above is clayey and calcareous. The terroir gives the wine from Italy a pleasant tannin structure and elegance. The wine is matured in barriques and larger wooden barrels to bring out the aromas.The color of the Rungg is garnet red. The dry wine has an intense aroma of cherry, redcurrant and dried fruit. Wonderfully round on the palate with chocolate aromas and light roasted flavors. The finish is long-lasting and powerful.Thanks to its full-bodied taste, the Cantina Tramin Rungg Merlot-Cabernet from South Tyrol is an excellent accompaniment to game dishes, roasts or well-matured cheese.

A beautiful everyday wine from Paul Mas.The Paul Mas Cabernet de Cabernet comes from valleys in the Languedoc. The climate there is Mediterranean, which results in round and soft wines. Around a fifth of the wine matured for 4 months in first and second fill barrels. The rest was matured in stainless steel tanks. The Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah grape varieties characterize this Paul Mas Vignes de Nicole Rosé. The grapes grow on the hills of the Herault Valley on clayey, chalky soils and are vinified individually for this cuvée, with the fermentation process lasting two weeks at 17 degrees Celsius. The wine from Domaines Paul Mas then matured on the lees for 40 days. New coated cement tanks were used. The fruit concentration was maintained by regular pumping over.The Paul Mas Vignes de Nicole Rosé is characterized by a very clear, light pink color. The nose has aromas of red berries, cherries and tropical fruits. On the palate, this French wine is wonderfully fresh, slightly acidic, powerful but round and with a good length on the finish.This dry rosé wine is simply perfect with seafood, shellfish or pork.
