Château Meyney, gelegen in der nördlichsten der bekanntesten Appellationen des Médoc, in Saint-Estèphe, hat eine erstaunliche Wandlung hinter sich. War dieser Wein schon immer solide und in besseren Jahren sehr gut, produziert Meyney in den letzten Jahren Weine auf außerordentlich hohem Niveau, die sich in der erweiterten Spitzengruppe von Saint-Estèphe etabliert haben. Dabei lässt sich dies (noch) nicht am Preis spüren, so dass man Château Meyney immer ein außergewöhnlich gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis bescheinigen muss.

2019 ist Teil der Trilogie 2018-2020, mit wunderbaren Bedingungen für den Weinbau am linken Ufer der Gironde. 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot und 16% Petit Verdot stellen die Assemblage dieses Weines, dessen Trauben manuell gelesen werden und sogar im Keller eine optical sorting machine durchlaufen.

Der Château Meyney 2019 überzeugt durch ein sehr konzentriertes, dunkles Bouquet. Blaubeeren, Schoko, Cassis, Pflaumen, Vanille, dunkler Tabak, Trüffel, Graphit und Waldboden vermitteln ein eindrucksvolles Aromenbild. Dieser Wein zeigt viel Power und Wucht mit feinen Tanninen und gutem Fett, erschlägt aber den Geniesser nicht mit seiner Kraft. Der Nachhall ist lang und spiegelt die schwarzen Früchte intensiv wieder.

Der Fleur de Pédesclaux, übersetzt die Blume von Pédesclaux , ist der Zweitwein vom Cru Classé Pedesclaux aus der weltberühmten Appellation Pauillac am linken Ufer der Gironde, im Médoc. Er ähnelt dem Grand Vin sehr, mit seiner wunderbaren Frucht und der warmen und sehr seidigen Textur. Hier ist allerdings der Merlot Anteil höher (67% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon und 6% Petit Verdot), was ihn etwas geschmeidiger und zugänglicher macht. Das Jahr 2019 brachte außerordentlich gute Ergebnisse in Bordeaux hervor, so dass sich der Fleur de Pédesclaux mehr auf Augenhöhe mit seinem großen Bruder befindet als in nicht so guten Jahrgängen.Wir lieben sein reiches und duftendes Merlot-Bukett und seine roten und schwarzen Früchte, die eleganten und geschliffenen Tannine und den langen Nachhall. Kein Wunder, dass dieser Wein viel mehr ist als es der profane Begriff "Zweitwein" vermuten lässt. Star-Önologe Eric Boissenot hat hier beratend seine Finger im Spiel, Managing Dircetor Emmanuel Cruse bringt das Wein-Know-How von Château d´Issan mit und Jackie Lorenzetti, Eigentümer von Château Pédesclaux, hat keine Mühen und vor allem Millionen gescheut, Pédesclaux eine unglaubliche Dynamik in der Entwicklung zu spendieren.Der Fleur wird handgelesen, im Keller wird der Most und der Wein alleine durch Gravitation bewegt. Die Reifung erfolgt für 12 Monate in 30% neuen Fässern. Ein frischer, sehr hochwertig und rein vinifizierter Pauillac, der schon jung viel Freude bereitet und gegenwärtig trinkreif ist, allerdings durchaus auch das Potential zur Lagerung von einigen Jahren bietet.

Château Poujeaux 2020 is an outstanding wine from the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation, one of the smaller but highly regarded regions on the left bank of Bordeaux. The estate, whose origins date back to the Middle Ages, is known for its consistent quality work and its ability to produce wines with strong character and longevity year after year. The 2020 vintage benefited from a balanced climate with warm days, cool nights and an ideal ripening period, resulting in excellent concentration and elegance in the grapes.The cuvée of the 2020 vintage consists predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), supplemented by Merlot (40%) and Petit Verdot (6%). This classic Bordeaux composition reflects the terroir character of the gravelly soils in Moulis particularly well and ensures complexity and depth.In the glass, Château Poujeaux 2020 is an intense, deep ruby red. The nose reveals a multi-layered bouquet of dark berries, particularly cassis, black cherry and blackberry, accompanied by floral notes such as violets as well as cedar, tobacco, cocoa and a hint of graphite - typical of the Left Bank style.On the palate, the wine impresses with density and elegance. The tannins are finely polished, the texture silky, and yet the Poujeaux 2020 has a powerful structure. The fruit aromas are concentrated but not overripe, accompanied by fresh acidity and a beautiful mineral note. The finish is long, harmonious and shows very good ageing potential.The 2020 vintage is considered by wine critics to be one of the best in the winery's recent history. The wine is already very appealing when young, but has the potential to mature for 15 to 20 years, during which it will continue to grow in complexity.Château Poujeaux 2020 is a classic but modern Bordeaux with depth, structure and finesse. It combines the typical virtues of a Médoc wine - power, elegance and ageability - while at the same time displaying an accessible fruit and finesse that makes it very attractive even when young. An excellent representative of its terroir with a convincing price-performance ratio.

Harmonie, fast schon Margaux´sche Finesse und Balance sind die jährliche Überschrift dieser Weine.Der Bordeaux begrüßt uns mit einem wunderschönen Rubinrot. In der Nase voll und komplex mit Aromen von Kräutern und frischgepressten Beeren. Am Gaumen rund und seidig, mit Blumen, Zitrus und am Ende Beeren. Die Säure balanciert dieses perfekt und die Tannine leiten in das lange Finale über. Der Château du Glana passt hervorragend zu gebratenem oder gegrilltem Fleisch.

Phéan Ségur has been at the top of the Saint Estéphe appellation, the northernmost wine-growing commune in the Médoc, for years. The wines here are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, very terroir-oriented and absolute marathon runners. A good Saint Estèphe should always be left to mature for at least 10 years before enjoying it.2019 was also a brilliant vintage in Saint Estèphe, resulting in an equally great grape juice.56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon found their way into the cuvée, which impresses with its very deep and multi-dimensional bouquet. Lots of dark berries, precious woods, cassis, coffee and chocolate.
