The Carménère grape variety is one of the flagships of Chilean viticulture. The "Wines of Chile" organization refers to it as "Chile's own signature grape". This is exemplified by the high-quality Escudo Rojo Carménère:

The wine has an intense and deep red color. On the nose, it is fresh and powerful, with aromas of blackberries, a subtle hint of oak and spices.

On the palate, it is initially elegant and powerful, then harmonious and sensual, with notes of black berries, rounded off by ripe tannins that melt into a long finish and bring out the special character of Carménère from Chile's Rapel Valley.

This wine is a good accompaniment to beef carpaccio, chicken, veal escalope, vegetable curry or cheese.

The Rapel Valley is located in central Chile, 200 kilometers south of Santiago. The growing area for the vines from which this outstanding wine is made stretches from the Andes to the Pacific coast. The Mediterranean climate is ideal for growing Carménère, as the grape variety is sensitive to cool, damp weather. This is one reason why it never achieved the status in Europe - after the phylloxera catastrophe - that it now has in Chile.

The grapes are harvested by hand. The 100 percent Carménère matures for six to eight months in oak barrels.

Grenzenlos gut: die chilenischen Weine von Baron Philippe de Rothschild! Château Mouton-Rothschild in Pauillac bei Bordeaux ist das Lebenswerk des Barons Philippe de Rothschild, der es am 22. Oktober 1922 als junger Mann überschrieben bekam und es zu einem der berühmtesten Weingüter der Welt machte.

Rothschild ist in der Weinwelt ein Synonym für herausragende Qualität. Die Nachfahren von Philippe de Rothschild setzten 1997 ihre Pläne in die Tat um, ihre Weinbau-Expertise und das unverwechselbare Terroir Chiles zusammenzubringen. Geprägt von mehr als 4000 Kilometer Pazifik-Küste, den Küstengebirgen und den Anden bietet das südamerikanische Land einzigartige Anbaubedingungen.

De Gras Reserva Carménère

Der De Gras Reserva Carménère stammt aus der Region Valle Central in Chile. Der Wein besteht zu einem großen Teil aus der Rebsorte Carmenere und einem kleinen Teil Merlot. Ausgebaut wurde er 5 Monate in französischen und amerikanischen Eichenfässern in einem 80/20 Verhältnis. Dabei waren ein Viertel der Fässer neu und der Rest im zweiten Gebrauch.Im Glas ist der trockene Rotwein purpurrot. Aromen reifer, schwarzer Früchte mit Gewürzen, Schokolade, Vanille und einer feinen Note von Toast ergeben ein wunderbar elegantes und komplexes Bouquet. Dieser Rotwein hat reife und weiche Tannine. Es ergibt sich eine außerordentliche Struktur und Frische.Der vegane Wein vom Weingut Montgras passt sehr gut zu süß-sauren Gerichten, zu Eintöpfen, Pasteten, Huhn und einige öligen Fischgerichten, besonders wenn sie ein wenig Pfeffer enthalten. Genießen Sie den Carmenere bei einer empfohlenen Trinktemperatur von 16-18 °C.
