Pfaffl Wien 1

Dr. Koehler Herr Doktor QbA White
The Dr. Koehler Herr Doktor QbA Weiß is a lively white wine from the renowned Dr. Koehler winery in Rheinhessen. This wine is a tribute to the venerable winemaker and is characterized by its freshness and structure. The Dr. Koehler winery has been a true authority in Rheinhessen for well over 100 years. In 2006, the business was taken over by the Dreissigacker family. The Dr. Koehler Herr Doktor QbA Weiss is a wine that pays homage to the venerable winemaker. In terms of taste, the white wine has a firm structure with a lean body. The Herr Doktor wine is a cuvée of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Scheurebe. With its eye-catching label, it is not only a tasty accompaniment, but also stands out visually. The fruity notes of the wine go particularly well with spicy fish dishes or white meat and provide a nice counterpoint. Enjoy it slightly chilled and not ice cold.

Pfaffl Gemischter Satz Harmony
What’s true for classical music also applies to the Pfaffl Gemischter Satz Harmony: many high-quality elements unite to create a harmonious whole. Roman Josef Pfaffl succeeded in creating a spicy, light wine full of vividness, freshness and fruitiness, consisting mainly of the Riesling Pinot Blanc and Grüner Veltliner. The grapes for this wine were harvested by hand. The wine matured for 3 months in stainless steel tanks before it was bottled in Burgundy bottles with screwcaps. The Pfaffl Gemischter Satz Harmony also expresses the return to the distinctive character of such cuvées. The focus on pure varietal wines pushed these blends into the background for a long time, but they are now being increasingly rediscovered. The wines from the Weinviertel region, the biggest Austrian wine-growing area extending over approximately 44,479 acres, are often influenced by the Grüner Veltliner grape variety. In the “Veltliner region”, 50% of the wine-growing areas are cultivated with this grape variety so typical of Austria. The Pfaffl Gemischter Satz Harmony is a real pleasure on the palate and goes well with practically everything.

Domäne Wachau Grüner Veltliner Terrassen Federspiel
Fresh straw yellow with subtle streaks, pronounced and open on the nose, aromas of white pepper, gooseberry and some yellow apple. Medium-bodied, lively acidity, very harmonious and with a fruity and spicy finish. A characteristic Federspiel from Grüner Veltliner, subtle and very racy.Ideal well chilled from the fridge at approx. 8°C. The wine can be drunk young, but also has 2-3 years of ageing potential. Excellent with baked dishes such as Wiener Schnitzel, poultry and various fish dishes. The vegan wine is also a wonderful accompaniment to vegetarian burgers and grilled vegetables.Origin and terroirThe entire Wachau region with its special microclimate and primary rock soil is the area of origin. Only grapes from terraced vineyards are used for this wine. This results in a clear and consistent Wachau wine style with lots of fruit.Grape variety Grüner Veltliner is the most important grape variety in Austria, accounting for approx. 1/3 of the total area. In the Wachau, the proportion of Grüner Veltliner increases to over 50%, as does the Domäne Wachau. A variety of styles can be produced from this grape variety, including medium-bodied white wines such as this Federspiel.Quality categoryFederspiel wines are harvested with a maximum of 12.0% alcohol and may not, of course, be fortified. The name Federspiel comes from falconry, which was very popular in the Wachau. The falcon symbol stands for the racy elegance of these dry white wines.VinificationThe vines are cultivated in the classic high training method and harvested at an average yield of approx. 7,000 kg per hectare. A modern grape transfer system enables precise selection of absolutely healthy grape material. Pressing in pneumatic tank presses, destemming overnight, use of pure yeasts, cool fermentation and ageing in stainless steel tanks. Subtly reductive handling guarantees a fresh, fruity wine with structure.
