Amalaya de Colomé

The Amalaya from the province of Salta in north-western Argentina is a cuvée of Malbec, Tannat and Petit Verdot. It has a dark red color with purple reflections. The bouquet is dominated by notes of strawberries, raspberries and ripe fruit, as well as a hint of pepper and light floral notes. On the palate, aromas of red fruits, spices and a hint of vanilla come together. This red wine from Argentina has soft tannins and a long-lasting finish.

Bodega Colomé - Dem Himmel so nah.

An der Bodega Colomé ist eigentlich alles außergewöhnlich beeindruckend. Der höchste Weinberg der Welt mit Rebflächen in Höhe von 2.500 bis zu 3.015 Metern, das älteste Weingut Argentiniens mit einer Produktion seit 1831, einem Gesamtareal von gigantischen 39.000 Hektar und Rebstöcken im Alter von über 150 Jahren, die noch vor der verheerenden Reblaus-Seuche aus Frankreich kamen.

Bei solchen Superlativen stehen ihre Weine nicht hinten an. Die am meisten angebaute Rebsorte Torrontés wächst hier in einem extrem trockenen Klima mit großen Temperaturschwankungen zwischen Tag und Nacht auf überwiegend sandigen, mit Kies und Steinen durchsetzten Böden. Ihre Trauben sind goldgelb, mittelgroß, sehr aromatisch und erinnern im Duft an Muskat. Die Weine besitzen ein feines, blumiges Bukett, einen wunderbar aromatischen Geschmack und drücken sortentypisch den Charakter des Terroirs aus. Sie ist die vielleicht edelste, ganz sicher aber die interessanteste Weißweinrebe Argentiniens.
