Jean Stodden Herrenberg Spätburgunder GG

This Pinot noir from the top slopes of the Herrenberg vineyard in the Rhineland-Palatinate has a nose redolent of minerals, cherries and black berries complemented by smoky notes and fine hints of toasted oak. The Jean Stodden Herrenberg Spätburgunder Großes Gewächs is powerful and pleasantly fruity on the palate with striking but elegantly integrated tannins as well as a fine minerality and density and a long finish. The Recher Herrenberg wine matured for 18 months entirely in new barriques. The meticulous hand-selected grapes come from the excellent Herrenberg an der Ahr vineyard located in the village of Rech. The central south-facing steep slopes with their weathered slate soil consisting of greywacke have gradients of up to 60%, providing the ideal basis for the optimal ripening of the grapes under the intense rays of the sun.

Jean Stodden Recher Herrenberg Spätburgunder

The Pinot noir grape variety is said to be the queen of the Ahr wine-growing region. This Pinot noir from the Rhineland-Palatinate matured for 17 months in both new and used barriques. The wine shows correspondingly fine and smoky notes that harmonize perfectly with the aromas of red berries such as strawberry and blackberry, cloves and wood, complemented by subtle hints of coffee. On the palate, the Jean Stodden Recher Herrenberg Pinot Noir is fresh and has a good, clear structure.In addition, the wine has a lovely depth and a long finish with harmoniously integrated tannins. This high-quality Pinot noir comes from the excellent Herrenberg vineyard located in the Ahr region. The central south-facing steep slopes with their weathered slate soil have gradients of up to 60%, thus providing superb conditions to benefit fully from the intensity of the sun. Over the decades, the Jean Stodden estate from the Rhineland-Palatinate has earned its position as one of the best producers of Pinot noir in Germany. The Jean Stodden Pinot Noir is wonderfully fruity in the nose, with aromas of red berries and cherries, complemented by youthfully spicy fruit.
