The Hartenberg Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a first-class red wine from the esteemed Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa. Intense, multi-layered and with excellent ageing potential, this red wine is convincing across the board.The grapes ripen in selected plots under optimal conditions: hot days and cool nights ensure a slow, even development of the aromas. After careful manual harvesting, the grapes are fermented traditionally to preserve the characteristic fruit aromas and tannins. The wine then matures for 18 months in French oak barrels, which gives it additional depth, fine roasted aromas and an elegant spiciness.In the glass, the Hartenberg Estate Cabernet Sauvignon shimmers a deep ruby red with violet reflections. A complex bouquet of blackcurrants, cassis and violets unfolds on the nose, complemented by fine notes of cedar wood and liquorice. On the palate, it is powerful with velvety tannins and striking and intense aromas of black plums and mulberries, accompanied by a subtle smoky note. The finish is long and pleasantly fresh.The Hartenberg Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent accompaniment to grilled steak, braised lamb or game dishes. It also unfolds its full potential with mature hard cheese or dark chocolate with a high cocoa content.

The fact that this grape can be found all over the world is certainly also due to the fact that it is very adaptable. But this is precisely what makes it all the more difficult for a wine-growing business. The Hartenberg Chardonnay is a positive example. The grapes are processed separately according to the individual parcels of the vineyard. Only at the end of the vinification process is the final Chardonnay blend put together under strict quality selection. The wine then matures for 11 months in French barriques.The result has been impressing wine critics all over the world for years. The wine has a wonderful aroma of white pear, tropical fruit, vanilla and roasted almonds. On the palate, these notes blend into a perfect taste.
