Der Francis Ford Coppola Diamond Collection Cabernet Sauvignon ist ein eindrucksvoller Rotwein aus Kalifornien, der die unverwechselbare Handschrift des renommierten Filmemachers und Weinproduzenten Francis Ford Coppola trägt. Der Cabernet Sauvignon offenbart die Fähigkeiten der Weinbereitung in ihrer exquisitesten Form. Sorgfältig ausgewählte Cabernet Sauvignon-Trauben und eine teilweise Reife für 12 Monate im Barrique verleihen diesem Wein eine beeindruckende Tiefe und Komplexität.

In der Nase präsentiert sich der Wein mit einer Fülle von reifen dunklen Früchten, darunter Cassis und Brombeeren. Subtile Nuancen von Vanille, Zedernholz und einem Hauch dunkler Schokolade vervollständigen das aromatische Profil. Am Gaumen entfaltet sich der Rotwein vollmundig und samtig, begleitet von gut integrierten Tanninen. Schwarze Johannisbeeren dominieren weiterhin und vermischen sich harmonisch mit Gewürznoten und einem Hauch von Eichenholz. Der Abgang ist lang und nachhaltig geprägt von Struktur und Eleganz. The Francis Ford Coppola Director’s Cut Cabernet Sauvignon is, as the Americans would say, an outstanding wine from the Sonoma Valley. With this wine, the ‘director’ created ‘Hollywood at its finest’, in which small percentages of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot join in as extras.Coppola puts special emphasis on those little things worthy of a Director’s Cut. A special, careful fermentation, 15 months of ageing in French and American oak casks and a meticulous selection of the grapes in each plot are the ‘special effects’ used by Coppola and his oenologist Cory Beck.The result is a powerful ‘epic’, offering aromas of black currants, plums and black cherries as well as notes of cigar-box on the nose. The wine is opulent and well-defined on the palate, showing lots of red and black fruit and notes of tobacco, leather and vanilla. Its finish is long-lasting and worthy of a ‘thrilling showdown’.All in all, the Francis Ford Coppola Director’s Cut Cabernet Sauvignon is a round and fruity delight, with lots of complexity, making this wine perfect to enjoy on its own. We recommend decanting the wine 1-2 hours before drinking it. It will remain at the peak of its maturity for the next several years.Try this wine with pies, game, steaks or blue cheeses.

Made with fruit grown entirely in the Dry Creek Valley appellation, where the combination of climate and location produces excellent Zinfandel fruit with intensely concentrated flavor. Half of the fruit was crushed whole, and the must (seeds and skins) was fermented in open-top fermentors for maximum color extraction and flavor enhancement. The wine was then aged in French oak barrels for twelve months, creating a wine with deep, rich layers of blueberries, raspberries, dark chocolate and mint, along with a lingering vanilla caramel finish.Delicious with soup, pork and spicey dishes.
