Francis Ford Coppola Winery

Product recommendation

Francis Ford Coppola Diamond Collection Zinfandel
Beautiful sultry aroma with plenty of strawberries, plums, black forest berries and cloves well characterized for this grape, very intense. On the palate a smooth commitment, delicious jams, pepper, creamy and intense, a lot of depth and strength, ripe and tasty, a slight spiciness, some supple tannins after.Great with a lamb, pork or pastry as well as in combination with Mediterranean dishes with tomato sauce.

Francis Ford Coppola Director's Cut Cabernet Sauvignon
The Francis Ford Coppola Director's Cut Cabernet Sauvignon is an outstanding - or the Americans would say "outstanding" - wine from the Sonoma Valley. The director created "very big Hollywood" with this grape juice, with small amounts of Petit Verdot and Merlot Cabernet Franc, among others, also playing a part as extras.Coppola places particular emphasis on the subtleties here, as befits a director's cut. Particularly gentle fermentation, 15 months of ageing in French and American oak barrels and precise selection of the grapes according to the respective plots are the special effects used here by Coppola and his oenologist Cory Beck. The result is a powerful epic, with blackcurrants, cigar box, plums and black cherries on the nose. The opulent and full-bodied palate shows plenty of red and black berry fruit, tobacco, leather and vanilla. The finish is long-lasting and worthy of an exciting showdown.Overall, this dry red wine from the USA is a well-rounded, fruity wine with plenty of complexity, making it ideal as a solo wine. It benefits from 1 to 2 hours of decanting and will remain at the peak of drinking maturity for several years.Try this wine with pâtés, game, lamb, steak or blue cheese.

19 Crimes Cabernet Sauvignon
The 19 Crimes Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia is a shimmering purple in the glass. Its bouquet offers intense vanilla aromas and notes of red currants and mulberries that recur on the palate and are complemented by nuances of chocolate and soft tannins. The well-structured red wine is lively and shows a subtle sweetness. The wines of the 19 Crimes line recall people convicted of crimes in Britain who were exiled to Australia beginning in the late 18th century. In many cases, those who survived the journey across the seas built a new life there, thus becoming part of a newly emerging country.Try the 19 Crimes Cabernet Sauvignon, recalling the prisoner Michael Harrington and his fearless escape in a small rowboat, with pasta, meat and ripe cheeses.

Anthonij Rupert Protea Cabernet Sauvignon
The Protea Cabernet Sauvignon from the Anthonij Rupert Wines estate is a shining example of the quality of South African viticulture and offers fair value for money. The grapes for this wine come from the Groenekloof region located in the wine-growing region of Darling, where the days are warm and the nights are cool, so that there is a significant temperature difference. This, in combination with the dark red soils consisting of decomposed granite, gives the wine its unique mix of dark and red fruit aromas. The wine is wonderfully concentrated and soft, with a juicy tannin structure. The Protea Cabernet Sauvignon is round, soft, light and well-balanced on the palate, offering clearly noticeable, fruity aromas of plums, dark berries and cherries, along with fine notes of spices. The fruit aromas wonderfully unite with the notes of oak, resulting in a long, harmonious finish. This wine can be enjoyed simply on its own to finish off the day. It also goes beautifully with all dishes that are not too hearty.

Francis Ford Coppola Director’s Cut Zinfandel
Made with fruit grown entirely in the Dry Creek Valley appellation, where the combination of climate and location produces excellent Zinfandel fruit with intensely concentrated flavor.Half of the fruit was crushed whole, and the must (seeds and skins) was fermented in open-top fermentors for maximum color extraction and flavor enhancement. The wine was then aged in French oak barrels for twelve months, creating a wine with deep, rich layers of blueberries, raspberries, dark chocolate and mint, along with a lingering vanilla caramel finish.Delicious with soup, pork and spicey dishes.
