Die Weinberge von dem Weingut The Hess Collection sind bekannt dafür, dass sie Jahr für Jahr wundervoll strukturierte, saftige Chardonnays mit erfrischender Säure hervorzubringen. Dieser Wein stammt aus der Hess Select Series, welche von den erfahrensten Winzern mit viel Liebe und Leidenschaft vinifiziert wird und zugleich weltbekannte Chardonnays aus Kalifornien hervorbringt.Im Glas ist der reinsortige Chardonnay gelblich mit goldenen Reflexen. Das Bouquet wird von tropischen Früchten geprägt. Dieser trockene Weißwein präsentiert sich würzig und ausgesprochen fruchtig mit Aromen grüner Äpfel sowie Noten reifer Birnen, Pfirsiche und Zitrusnoten. A „perfect” ripening season with full crop yields, and restrained sugar levels led to outstanding wines from Washington state’s Columbia Valley.Vintage delayed slightly by cool spring weather and a moderate summer, harvest began 10 days later than normal. Warm weather in August provided ideal ripening conditions for grapes across all varietals and harvest was quickly ramped up in order to obtain fruit at the optimum ripeness.Ripe grapes were destemmed and inoculated with various strains of yeast to maximize complexity. Gentle pumpovers during fermentation were used to extract colour and flavour and produce soft, supple tannins. Aged 16 months in American and French oak, 32% new.Delicious with bleu cheese, duck, beef, veal and dark chocolate.

Der trockene Rotwein aus den USA verführt mit süßer, dunkelwürziger Beerenfrucht, feinen Röstnoten und einem Hauch von Vanille. Vollreife Trauben, die lange Fassreife und das seidige Tannin verleihen ihm die runde, samtweiche Fülle, die den Wein wunderschön zugänglich macht.Die Trauben wurden während der warmen Tagesstunden gelesen, um eine rasche Gärung auszulösen, danach gemahlen und 7-8 Tage lang vergoren. Zweimal täglich wurde die Maische mit etwa 80% des Mostes überflutet, um den Trauben ein Maximum an Farbe und Fruchtaromen zu entziehen und so den saftig konzentrierten Charakter des Syrah deutlich hervorzubringen.Trinken Sie den Chateau Ste. Michelle Syrah zu gegrilltem Lachs und Rindfleisch mit mediterranen Kräutern oder würzigem Käse!
