This Chardonnay from South Africa has a wonderfully fruity bouquet offering aromas of apples, gooseberries and ripe pears, along with notes of lemon cream and pineapple and nuances of vanilla and butterscotch as well. The Glen Carlou Chardonnay is medium-bodied, fresh and stimulating on the palate, with a balanced acidity, a lovely length and an impressive finesse.

The Chardonnay matured for 10 months in special Chardonnay casks, of which 30% each were new, second- and third-fill barrels. The rest of the barrels were fourth-fill casks, giving the white wine only subliminal but wonderfully harmonious notes of wood. The wine’s fruitiness remains predominant.

This white wine from Paarl, South Africa, is a good accompaniment to fried scampi or mussels in white wine.

This white wine was aged for more than 11 months in new French barriques. The grapes for this wine come from the Glen Carlou estate’s oldest Chardonnay vines, which were planted about 30 years ago. The Glen Carlou Quartz Stone Chardonnay has an intense bouquet offering notes of orange marmalade, lime, ripe stone fruit and candied pineapple. The white wine from the Coastal Region is full-bodied and fresh on the palate, showing very intense aromas.This wonderful creation was awarded 4 out of 5 possible stars in John Platter’s Wine Guide. The wine is characterised by its ageing in oak casks, of which 90% were new barrels, without leaving overly dominant notes of oak. You’ll enjoy discovering a Chardonnay that has a lot to offer.
