Für den Jahrgang 2014 schreibt Monica Larner in Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: Der „Planeta Chardonnay Sicilia Menfi hebt den Weißwein aus Sizilien auf ein völlig neues Level“. Sie vergibt beachtliche 93 Punkte. Und auch dieser Jahrgang hat es in sich. Noten von reifen gelben Pfirsichen, Akazienhonig und Marzipan vereinen sich mit feinen Röstaromen. Der reinsortige Chardonnay mit einer klaren, goldenen Tiefe ist am Gaumen beeindruckend frisch und cremig, mit einer belebenden Säure. Dazu kommen schöne mineralische Nuancen und ein kraftvolles, ausgewogenes Finale.

Im Glas ein heller, lebendiger Platin-Farbton mit grüner Tönung. Komplexes Bouquet von Zitronengras, Limetten, Hafermehl, ausdrucksstarker Mineralität.Am Gaumen ist der südafrikanische Wein von mittlerem Körper, aber mit klarer Säure, Aromen von Kalk, Marzipan, cremige ausgedehnte Eichen-, Apfel- und Birnbaum-Merkmale. Durch eine reine, lineare mineralische Note ergibt sich ein sauberer und langer Abgang.Von Hand gepflückt, als gesamte Partie gepresst und sofort in 300 Liter Fässer aus französischer Eiche gefüllt. Dabei wurden 60% neue Fässer und 40% Fässer, die schon bereits einmal befüllt waren, verwendet. Die Gärung fand in Eiche statt, teils als natürliche und teils als malolaktische Gärung. Die Reifung erfolgte für 12 Monate in Eichenfässern mit gelegentlichem Rühren vor dem Abfüllen in Flaschen.Dieser Weißwein aus der Region Stellenbosch passt perfekt zu gegrilltem Fisch, weißem und rotem Fleisch.

San Marzano Sessantanni Primitivo di Manduria DOP

Production area: Selected vineyards of Neviera and Casa Rossa, located in San Marzano district. The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. The climate is characterised by high temperatures all year round, very few rainfalls and a wide difference of temperature between night and day, which has a nice influence on the quality of grapes. This is the “classical” central area of d.o.c. ”Primitivo di Manduria” Harvest period: Third decade of August, first decade of September Vinification: Hand-harvested in small baskets. Maceration: 18 days with selected autochtonous yeasts. The Aaldering Chardonnay has an intense bouquet offering notes of peach, lime and mandarin. On the palate, the white wine from the Devon Valley shows a lovely fullness, a creamy juiciness and a prolonged finish as well. This high quality Chardonnay from California matured for nine months in barriques. The white wine unites diverse notes of ripe apples, freshly roasted hazelnuts, dried apricots and tropical fruit in its bouquet, complemented by nuances of vanilla, bakery spices and hints of butter. On the palate, the Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay is creamy and velvety, with a juicy, very acidic finish, which is characterised by lots of yellow fruit and notes of almond biscuits.You’ll want to discover this Chardonnay from California with lobster, scallops, baked scampi or fried fish. Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Chardonnay

Colour:Pale gold. Aroma:An intense and complex nose with aromas of white peach, honeysuckle and subtle savoury and bacon oak notes. Palate:A deliciously full-bodied and rich wine with complex stone fruit flavours and a touch of spice supported by underlying savoury oak notes and subtle yeast autolysis characters. The palate is elegant and full with firm acidity and a lingering finish. Ageing potential:Perfect for drinking immediately this Chardonnay will age well in the bottle with careful cellaring up for to four years from vintage date.Winemaking:The fruit was carefully hand-picked and whole bunch pressed to ensure the vineyard characteristics and fruit flavours were preserved. Wine was barrel fermented in 100 per cent American oak (50 per cent new oak barrels, 25 per cent second fill, 25 per cent third fill). Selected yeast strains were used for fermentation. The wine then went through malolactic fermentation followed by 10 months ageing on yeast lees, with regular stirring. Only the best barrels from each batch were selected to use in the final blend.
