Dieser Weißwein vom Familienweingut Malavasi, das vier Kilometer vom Südufer des Gardasees entfernt liegt, ist in jeder Hinsicht ein Fest für die Sinne.

Im Glas leuchtet der reinsortige Trebbiano di Lugana strohgelb mit grünen Reflexen. Das Bukett ist wunderbar intensiv fruchtig. Es umfasst Noten von weißem Pfirsich, Aprikosen, reifen Mirabellen und Äpfeln (Golden Delicious). Dazu kommen bereichernde Noten von Mandelblüten, Vanille und Marmelade sowie angenehme mineralische Töne.

Am Gaumen ist dieser Lugana herrlich frisch, dicht und fruchtbetont. Das Aromenspiel bietet Noten von Zitrusfrüchten, balsamische Töne und einen Hauch von Marzipan. Diese intensive Aromatik begleitet Genießerinnen und Genießer ohne nachzulassen bis ins länger nachklingende Finale.

20 Prozent dieses Weißweins aus der Lombardei wurden für zwei Monate im Barrique ausgebaut, der Großteil im Edelstahltank. Dem Malavasi San Giacomo Trebbiano Lugana verleiht dies seine besondere Komplexität.
