The Poggio le Volpi Donnaluce Lazio Bianco is a fascinating white wine from Lazio that was aged in wooden casks and has an outstanding reputation in the international world of wines. This blend consisting of Malvasia del Lazio, Greco and Chardonnay has an intense bouquet offering notes of gooseberries, apricots, peach, lychee and white blossoms. Its finish shows nuances of honey and almonds. On the palate, this remarkable taste experience from the Poggio le Volpi estate is velvety, fresh, fruity, and downright dangerously seductive. The soil is mainly “terra rossa”, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous undergound with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides.
