Nicht nur der Riesling gehört zum Sortiment des Weinguts August Eser, sondern auch verschiedene Spätburgunder wie der August Eser Mittelheim Spätburgunder trocken VDP Ortswein. Ortswein steht für eine der Qualtitätsstufen im Klassifikationsmodell des VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter). Die Trauben stammen von Weinbergen innerhalb eines Ortes, der auf dem Etikett erscheint. Bei diesem Rotwein also Mittelheim.

Die Weinbergslage ist tiefgründig und gut versorgt. Während der Maischegärung wurde die Maische mehrmals täglich gestampft. Die darauffolgende malolaktische Gärung wurde im Eichenholzfass vollzogen, wo der Rotwein anschließend einige Monate zur geschmacklichen Reife lagerte.

Die Farbe des Mittelheimers ist Rubinrot. Der Wein zeigt einen würzig aromatischen Geschmack. Trotz seiner Dichte und Komplexität ist der Spätburgunder süffig und animierend.

This red wine from the Palatinate has a wonderfully multi-layered bouquet offering intense notes of red berries, along with fine juniper aromas. Delheim Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Blackberry and plum aromas, backed by undertones of dark chocolate and vanilla. The wine is elegant and lingers on the palate.Fermentation with selected yeast strains. Temperature was maintained at 25-28°C. Pump-overs were conducted 4 times a day until fermented dry. The wine was matured for 13 months in French oak, and then bottled with a screw cap.
