Immer auf der Suche nach den besonderen Weinen sind wir auf diesen „versteckten Schatz“ in Bordeaux gestoßen. Dieser vegane Wein bietet nicht nur ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis; er hat uns auch im Hinblick auf das Wichtigste, nämlich seine Aromatik, mehr als überzeugt.

Benannt nach dem ältesten Leuchtturm Europas, der vor dem Mündungstrichter der Gironde im Atlantik steht und den der Wein stolz auf seinem Etikett trägt, profitiert dieser Bordeaux Supérieur von der Expertise von Jean René Matignon, dem Önologen von Château Pichon Baron, Grand Cru Classé in Pauillac. Jean René, Matignon ist ein Meister in der Kunst des Blendings und Experte in der Überwachung des Fassausbaus.

Ist es Zufall, dass das Label dieses Weines, der zu 75% aus Merlot und 25% Cabernet Sauvignon besteht und in thermoregulierten Edelstahlbehältern vergoren wurde, dem seines „großen Bruders“ ähnelt?

Der Cap Royal reifte im französischen Eichenfass. Er zeigt eine schöne intensive rote Farbe mit violetten Reflexen. Die Nase weist Aromen von Brombeer- und Heidelbeerkonfitüre mit würzigen und gerösteten Noten auf. Am Gaumen spürt man die Reichhaltigkeit des Weines durch eine Cremigkeit, verstärkt durch Vanillenoten, die durch den Ausbau in Eichenfässern hervorgerufen werden. Ein kraftvoller, reicher und frischer Bordeaux mit einer tollen Frucht.

Cap Royal ist bereits trinkreif, nach einer Dekantierzeit von einer 3/4 Stunde.

Solo eine Freude, macht sich dieser Rebsaft ebenso gut im Duo mit gereiftem Hartkäse, Wild, Geschmortem und Rind.

Dieser Rotwein aus der AOC Francs-Côtes de Bordeaux ist eine Assemblage aus 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc und 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Die Rebstöcke, auf bestem Kalk-Sandstein Terroir gelegen, sind im Schnitt 30 Jahre alt. Michel und Rina Guillon sind die Besitzer dieses uralten Familienbetriebs, der 10 ha Rebgarten umfasst und seit vier Generationen von Vater zu Sohn weitergegeben wird.Dem Wein merkt man die Hingabe seiner Schöpfer an. Im Glas begrüßt uns ein tiefes und funkelndes Dunkelrot. Der Guillon-Nardou zeigt eine reiche Palette von dunklen Beeren, Johannisbeeren und Brombeeren, etwas Cassis und Tabak. Am Gaumen sehr rund und voluminös, mit schöner Struktur und sehr geschliffenen Tanninen. Der Nachhall ist wunderbar lang.Ein toller „Every-day“-Bordeaux, mit einem sagenhaften Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Er ist jetzt nach etwa einer Stunde Dekantieren trinkreif, ist aber mindestens noch bis 2025 in seinem Zenit.Zu Wild, Pasta, gereiftem Käse oder mit Freunden eine echte Empfehlung!

The Vidal-Fleury Côtes du Rhône Blanc consists of 75% Viognier and 25% Grenache Blanc. This white wine from the Rhône wine-growing region of France is a pale yellow in colour. It has an intense bouquet offering aromas of apricots and melon, along with nuances of dried fruit such as almonds and floral notes of acacia. The dry white wine pampers the palate with a vivid freshness, fruitiness and a constantly present acidity, sustaining the aromatic notes of fruit. Its finish is fresh and wonderfully long-lasting.The Vidal-Fleury Côtes du Rhône Blanc is perfect to enjoy on its own on a warm summer day. It is also an excellent accompaniment to starters or lightly fried dishes.

The 2016 vintage produced premium wines in nearly the entire Bordelais region. The 2016 Greteau Médeville is impressive proof of this as well.Since 1826 and in the meantime through seven generations, members of the Médeville family have been producing wines in the Bordeaux region. The Médeville family owns an additional six estates which they operate with an organic approach, protecting the environment to the greatest extent possible, with minimal use of chemicals in its vineyards. The Gréteau Médeville estate is one of its showpieces, covering an area of only 22.24 acres.A restrained use of wood underlines the fruity and well-balanced character of this wonderful, seductive wine.The Château Greteau Médeville Bordeaux Supérieur AOP 2016 is a light, clear garnet red in colour. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of cherries, black currants and spices. It is very velvety on the palate, showing lots of fruit, notes of amarena cherries and a full body. The finish is long and fruity. The fine and already well-integrated tannins underpin the wine’s structure. We recommend decanting the wine a while before drinking it. It can already be enjoyed now but will further improve over at least five more years.This Bordeaux is a wonderful everyday wine and lovely to enjoy on its own. It is also a good accompaniment to grilled dishes, meat pies, game, duck, quails or ripe cheeses. You won’t find a better bargain for Bordeaux!
